Portable Shoebox Tape Recorder with Microphone/Speaker

USB Cassette Recorder takes you back to the memories of the 80s, offering the typical functions of an old tape recorder/player such as play, forward, rewind, pause, record, and other function buttons.

Tape recorder has two modes to choose from, USB mode and tape mode. It can play your old tapes and mixtapes, listen to your long-cherished music, and can also be used as an audio converter, converting tape saving it on a USB flash drive.

In addition to playing tapes, portable cassette recorders carry stand-alone microphones and can also record external sound to tape or to a USB thumb drive. Also suitable for conferences, lectures or everyday recordings.

USB Digitization

Audio tape recorder carries a USB port (USB flash drive is not included), and compatible file formats for USB audio playback: WAV format. USB thumb drive format: FAT32 format, maximum support 32G.

Portable Telescopic Handle

The shoebox tape player is equipped with a retractable carrying handle at the top. The product measures 10.3" x 5.7" x 2.0", a compact size for easy portability.

Two Power Supply Methods

1. Plug the power adapter (DC 5V/1A) into the 17 "DC socket (5V)" for power supply.

Input : AC 100~240V, 50/60HZ, 0.15A

Output : DC 5V 1A

2. Battery powered.

Recording to Tape Notes:

1. Make sure the tape is placed correctly before recording, otherwise the REC and PLAY buttons cannot be pressed.

2. If the recording button rebounds, press the REC and PLAY buttons firmly and stay for 2 to 3 seconds, and start recording after the buttons are fixed in place.

3. Blank tapes can be recorded directly. For non-blank tapes, please check whether there is a plastic sheet at the bottom of the tape you want to record (recording erasure protection design, please refer to the instructions). If the plastic sheet still exists and has not been peeled off, you can record directly. If the plastic sheet is peeled off, It needs to be covered with scotch tape before it can be re-erased and recorded.

Notice:

When a battery is installed in the battery compartment, plug in the power adapter(DC 5V/1A), and the battery will be automatically disconnected.

Before using the tape, please check whether the magnetic strip in the tape has been wound tightly. If you play the tape without winding it tightly, it may cause the tape to rewind or even damage the tape; so if you find that the magnetic strip in the tape is not wound tightly, please Before placing it in the door, use a pencil or other object to wrap the magnetic strip tightly.

As a basic USB-powered (or C-Cell Battery powered) cassette tape recorder/player... it's good. Mostly works fine, except when it doesn't . . . And when it goes bad, it's very bad: The tape transport PINCHES tapes, and then CRUMPLES them, then EATS the tape, winding it around the drive spindle.When this happened on the first tape, I thought "OK, this must be a bad tape, because it's done fine with several others so far". But then it started failing on every tape I put into it.Out of TWELVE tapes I ran through, it crumpled EIGHT of them and ATE and BROKE FIVE of them. So I can definitely say it is not my tapes, and this deck definitely does not work as expected.What I bought it do was to record tapes onto USB stick. And for that, it's not nearly as simple and functional as it presents itself to be. Even before it started eating takes, sometimes it would work, and sometimes it doesn't. I was able to get it to more consistently work when i pressed the REC.to.USB button TWICE... after having pressed PLAY and PAUSE on the main tape transport.One thing I'm pretty sure about (but don't see it mentioned in the documentation) is that the SIZE of the SDISK/TF Card matters... I've tried using three different SDISKs ranging in size from 128M to 128G... the best one I've been able to do ANYTHING with so far is the tiny 128M one, which is way too small for most jobs I want to record.I did finally get a 16G one to work, but all the while it tends to GLITCH and insert some weird spiked noise into the recording every now and then. (see pic). So far, I haven't figured out what that's about.For a while I could get it only to PLAY from USB (and not even that, consistenly. But it sometimes has played some), but was not able to RECORD to USB consistently at all...For now, I'm RETURNING this device to be REPLACED with another. I will give it the benefit of the doubt that perhaps this unit's electronics or mechanical transport are somehow flawed . . .

This was a the best way to hear old cassette tapes without having to spend too much. Great little unit with some current surprises!

Rubber belt broke after a few hours of use. Inspection showed a tiny thread of a belt.

Only worked for a week then started making an annoying buzz which overwhelmed the music then it ate a tape in process of returning

Cassette recorder difficult to record with. You must hold top little record button and try to press play and record buttons down below all at the same time to make it record. Sometimes it catches for record and sometimes not. H well it is wat it is. But would not recommend this recorder to others to buy.
