I have a job that's going to put me out traveling a lot. Anytime I stop In the city I like to buy a bag of artisan coffee and use that instead of going to the coffee shop, It ends up costing about the same.As you can see, the device fits in both parts of the aeropress perfectly. Which is very nice for travel.ProsWhile it takes a little bit of time to get what you need compared to an electric grinder, but it works well and evenly grinds. It comes in two parts so it's pretty easy to use. While a lot of grinders show 40 levels of grind, I wanted something that was not gimmicky, between level 5 which could work in a pinch for French press, and level one which works for aeropress quite well, it really doesn't seem like the adjustment steps being so fine is a necessity with A device like this. The build is solid and I'm sure it's easy to clean.ConsThis one isn't so bad, if you are on a finer grind you need to be sure to hold the adjustment in place. The force required to turn the wheel if your on anything below level 5, will turn to level five. Luckily, my partner is a little bit more interested in pour over and level 5 looks like a very good grind for that.

I have an electric coffee grinder with a hopper like at Starbucks with an adjustable grind setting. As a coffee snob, I like the finest setting possible so the coffee is like dust... it gets the richest flavor out of the coffee. Last week, the city's power went out for 3 hours and my electric grinder wouldn't work... fortunately I had enough to make a cup by boiling the water with a gas flame. I vowed never to be without a manual grinder again, hence the purchase of this lil jewel. This manual grinder does the same job as the electric but it grinds by human power... perfect for power outages and camping. The container that catches the ground coffee is small... it's enough for one cup of coffee when full and I guesstimate it took about 40-50 rotations to fill it with ground coffee on the #1 (fine) setting. The manual grinder has 5 settings; 1 for my favorite dust (rich, flavorful coffee) and 5 for course (which is more like tea than coffee). I'd give this grinder a 5, but I have big hands and the knob for turning is too small. When I turn the knob, I hit my knuckles with every rotation... but aching knuckles is better than no coffee in an emergency, grid down, caffeine-needed right this very moment scenario. A taller knob would be better and I may just replace the knob on this manual grinder. Great grinder for the money!

Update. Just fill to the brim and you can make a large perfect cup of coffee. So only one caveat: it takes time and effort to grind (like minutes)Quality of the grind (I set it on 3 and I do pour over) is outstanding. Not sure why others say the grind setting slips. Unless you twist your hand, it’s not going to shift.

This bean grinder was a gift for a loved one who can be considered a bit of a coffee snob: very particular about his grinds. Well, low and behold, he's quite happy with the grinder. It grinds perfectly to the desired coarseness for an espresso machine and the radius of the handle makes it grind with ease. The compact form factor is a winner as well, as it's small enough to pack for camping.Out of the box, the grinder looks to have a nice finish that makes it look more expensive than it is, hence great for said coffee snobs. It has a nice feel to it.The lid is clear plastic, and so is the slot that the metal pin slides into that engages the grinder. Time will tell how this holds up. I will update my review if the item suffers premature failure.

I bought this based on ratings, reviews, and price. I paid under $13.00 because I just wanted to try French Press coffee and didn’t want to jump into an expensive unit right away. Honestly, I think it was the best deals I've ever gotten on Amazon. The grind is really consistent. It takes a bit of time, about 100 turns for a full dose (17+ grams), which is perfect for my 12oz mug. Best coffee ever! This will be perfect for camping. I’m sold on French press coffee, and I really doubt I’ll need to upgrade the grinder. Money well spent, I’d say.

Decent quality. Adjusts for preferred grind texture. Gets the job done. Pay attention to your grip as it likes to jump back to a coarser texture if you aren’t careful.

This is cute but feels cheap. It is small but that makes it easy to grind but it doesn’t hold much. Mine will not move on the settings from 1 to 5. It is on five and will not budge.**update.. very disappointed in this grinder. I cannot change the grind settings because it will not rotate. Where it goes on and attaches, has become unable to connect so I have to basically hold the three pieces together while trying to grind and the mechanism has failed so it will barely turn.

Looks very sturdy and well built, I owe a C2 Timemore and it does not disappoint. The coarseness indicator is really helpful, better than other more expensive ones, but I must say that it recommends that you never use finer than 7. Maybe for some purposes the 7 level is still a little coarse, for what I use it is great, the 7 level is just perfect for a creamy and rich espresso.I was using a cheaper one and the espresso would never come with the rich and creamy foam, even at finer sizes it would only clog my machine, maybe it grinded too slowly and the coffee would have already lost its freshness. This one on the other hand is great, it grinds really fast, its really on par with the C2 Timemore (known to be one of the fastest manual grinders out there), at least while new.

I actually like this grinder a lot, and use it every day* Max capacity is 19 grams, good for a single coffe* Grind adjustment is convenient, external and visible* Fine setting (#1) is not fine enough for espresso* Handle radius is shorter than others, which I like, because there is less hand movement and quicker to grind* Small and light, good for travel* Has good quality feelDefinitely recommend it!
