It's really simple in use. Point the filter side at the skillet, and turn it on. The filter does a decent job of holding down odors, and my indoor air quality monitor shows about an 80% reduction of airborne particles. It's not a quiet device, but it works for use during our remodel. I'm pleased, entirely.

I recently ordered this product to help with moving steam and smoke from the oven area. I have been using it for the past month and have been very impressed with several things. First the quality of the fan is impressive...very well built. Secondly, the power of the fan is incredible as it really does catch most if not all of the steam and smoke rising from the pan. We changed ovens recently and because we don't have venting over our island counter, we needed something that we could use instead. This product fits that requirement. There were many to choose from but fortunately, we think we selected the right one.

My custom kitchen exhaust fan is on back order and I hate cooking without an exhaust fan. So I figured I would try this.I have to admit it does remove the smoke, but it doesn’t work that great for the smells. If you are frying hamburgers your house won’t fill up with smoke while cooking but the smell will still be there. It is better than not having anything. I would recommend it.

We have a range in the middle of our kitchen island, leaving no easy hood option. We purchased this fan just after Christmas and have loved using it during some of our more adventurous cooking activities!

I ordered this portable range hood for my small kitchen that does not have an externally vented exhaust fan hoping that it would draw some of the steam and grease created from cooking, but it does not do that. It is very loud, which I could live with if it worked, but I will be returning this item. I am disappointed.
