While this waterproof battery operated bathroom AM FM Receiver says it is for the shower -- and I have no doubt it would be wonderful in a shower -- I actually ordered it to get rid of and keep away a family of foxes that made their home under my porch! I called Wildlife Rescue and asked what to do as I didn't want to hurt the little adorable fox family! They told me to wait until the mother left the babies to look for food. Then, put batteries in a transistor radio, choose a channel and play the music softly -- putting it in a plastic bag for safely, sliding and leaving it under the porch. The Rescuer told me that the Mother would hear the music and move the babies because she'd interpret the sound as a potential safety threat. Within 48 hours -- no more foxes! The Mother scooted those babies away to another hiding place!

My daughter has been wanting one for awhile...not sure why? lol but I think she saw some older 80s movies and thought it was the coolest thing - while this is portable and an actual shower radio would have been preferred this is a great first portable radio that works well given that there arent a totally ton of stations to listen to - its more of the novelty of it. Satisfied with purchase.

I wanted to provide an update to my original review. Unfortunately, after about 3 weeks the radio stopped working correctly. The on/off/radio selector started acting up and wouldn't turn off or properly select either the AM or FM band. I returned the item and did not ask for a replacement because the timing for delivery was too long. So overall, it worked great for a few weeks and then it didn't. I guess I am back to square one.I bought this to replace my 20 year old shower radio. I wasn't expecting much but have been really surprised at the reception quality and how easy it is to replace the batteries. The analog tuning/dial accuracy is like any other model, not great if you are looking for a specific numerical point on the dial, but once you find the channel you want, it works great. Overall very happy with the purchase.
