I'm still barely begining my mycology journey, but knew I'd want to start some culturing sooner rather than later to avoid constantly ordering spores and hoping for the best... I'd read about using still air boxes for that, but figured one would be helpful for innocuoting in general - and one like this that I don't need to have set up permanently (or pay hundreds for) is perfect for my space (and budget)! It comes in a zippered pouch, and unfolds like a popup tent in seconds - though takes some wriggling to get it back in properly. Sanitizing is easy, as is inserting my AIO bags and supplies, and the arms are large enough to get in without shaking too much. The seal is good, though I do worry about creating currents moving around inside and possibly causing contamination of my prep isn't done correctly - something I've heard can happen even with rigid boxes. There isn't much else to say, but I'm happy that I have something to use even when I get more serious with agar plates and such; and in the meantime, it tucks away pretty much anywhere!

Very effective for growing. Do not leave out in the heat, will soften the material temporarily. Very easy to use.

This portable mushroom growing kit is an excellent tool for mycology enthusiasts or anyone curious about growing their own mushrooms. The still air box is easy to assemble and provides a clean, controlled environment for cultivating mushrooms. The compact size makes it suitable for home or office use. A fascinating and rewarding hobby starter.

This portable still air box is built a bit different than my other one. There is no plastic frame to put together. This one pops up and is ready to use. The material is very clear and transparent for better viewing. The openings fit my arms just fine. The material is durable and washable. I wipe it down with 70% alcohol after each use. The material is flexible and pliable and should not rip or crack easily. This is a better way to hand items that you need to keep sterile and contamination free. Good size for hobby or commercial purposes.

The main reasons that I choose this is because it's collapsible and doesn't require assembly. It pops open and is ready to use after sanitizing it. It's small when it's collapsed and it has a carry bag. I knew ahead of time that it was going to pop open once I removed the strap, so I was ready for it. I held it closed with my hand then removed the strap and slowly let it pop open with my hand pushing down on it so I can see how I would need to fold it back up once I finished using it.The arm ports have elastic bands, which is great. The still air box is large, and the sleeves are a good length. The plastic cover stays wrinkled even after I cleaned it and tried to smooth it out, but I can still see inside it. It came with 2 pairs of gloves and a humidity and temperature gauge (battery not included). It was set to Celsius, and mine didn't have a way to set it to Fahrenheit, though. This is convenient for me to use since it doesn't have to be assembled, and it's easy to hide when I'm not using it.

I have this in my basement and I have been able to get some mushrooms to start growing so I am impressed thus far as my basement has a dirt floor and I did not want to get my mushrooms contaminated with whatever else is down there. WIth this still air box i am able to get them to grown in ideal conditions and I will update when i harvest.

Overall very happy with this. We have some nice mushrooms growing right now after just a week of use. It’s larger than I expected but still works perfectly. It is easy to access inside from the zippered end caps or the arm holes on the side. I like that they included gloves and a humidity sensor, both of which are fair quality and work as expected.I think my only wish is that the armholes had some sort of a string tie to help seal those spots in order to keep moisture in. But I found rolling or folding them up helps. Not a dealbreaker by any means!

A good still air box can really help when taking mycology to the next level. Working with Agar or anything you have to open to the elements can really open a space for contamination. This Toboom Still Air Box is very similar to many of the other SABs of it's kind. It collapses down pretty well for storage, zips on both sides for easy access, and has two arm holes with cuffs to help keep air still when working. It's important to note that you can still very much get contamination with a SAB so it's critical to do a through cleaning with 70% Iso before using and waiting a good 10 mins for the Iso to do its job. For the money, this is a nice way to go for a SAB, especially if you don't want to DIY it.
