A basic thing that hasn't been screwed up by things getting cheaper and cheaper these days. I expected to be writing on tissue paper by now! Nope. Just a nice size that Ive used for a couple decades.

It would be much easier to write in these if the back were stiffer. These are cheaper but the ones that Office Depot sells have a much stiffer back making it easier to hold the notebook in your hand and write in it. Paper is good. The wire binding would be better if it was the double kind but it works. These are small enough for your back pocket (or your purse but I don't have one of those) but big enough to write notes without having to split them up across a lot of pages.

These notepads are great for LEO as you can fit most of your cases on one sheet of paper instead of being all over the place with a small notepad. I keep a much smaller notepad in my pocket for traffic stops or getting info for coworkers if needed. Highly recommend

Sturdy front and back covers, plain white. And what I call "narrow" ruled--5/16 inch between the lines, as opposed to "college ruled," which is 1/2" between lines. Pages are 4" x 8" and decent quality paper stock. I count 70 pages per pad. Perfect. And not so easy to find.

My husband only gets these, he likes that he can write on the cover, and that the spirals are small.
