This puller is AWESOME.No more trying to mess around keeping three jaws on the part while finger tightening the jack screw 4 or 5 times in an effort to keep things lined up and centered, only to have the jaws pop off as soon as you put the impact on the jack screw. No more of those stupid link bars used on most pullers between the body and the hook with two bolt holes in them that distort rendering the puller useless.I will admit it took me a few moments to figure out the whole cage thing, but its great. You can totally back out the jack screw, roughly center the puller over the pulley, and as you tighten the T handle the jaws close over the part. If you just snug it with a few ft-lbs of force the puller will sit there perfectly centered on the pulley. Then run the jack screw in and hit the jackscrew with the impact and let 'er rip.I'm with some of the others.. I don't know how one guy managed to break the cage. Im figuring he probably didn't understand the purpose of the cage and also didnt bother to read the directions and cranked down on the cage thinking that was how you remove the part?I've also personally never seen a control arm bushing where a 3 jaw puller was the correct tool for the job. A 12T hydrualic press is usually the smallest appropriate tool, even for compact car bushings..

I originally bought the bigger brother to this puller for a control arm bushing job a few months ago, all I can say is that I'm very happy with operation of these style pullers. The exoskeleton keeps jaws from slipping off target and add to the rigidity if the tool. The build quality is by far the best puller I have used to date. Highly recommend getting these pullers over the cheap knock offs, you wont be disappointed.

Nice puller. I work in restaurant services, and I regularly have to pull off fan wheels. The ones on large combi ovens can be real pains, due to tapered motor shafts. I fought one for hours. With this puller and a torch to supply some heat, took about a minute!

I own many 2 and 3-Jaw bearing/gear pullers and I have to say that the Posi Lock 3-jaw puller is the best I have ever used. It is actually a joy to use, because it just works so well at pulling bearings and gears. The jaw design allows it to work in areas may other pullers would not work in due to space limitations. The Posi Lock cage maintains a good hold on the item being removed, so the jaws won't slip off even after the item being removed has come completely off the shaft. In a nut shell I think this tool is Awesome and well worth the price.

Excellent tool! Forget all the other types of of puller that you “assemble†with bolts through the joints. They are cheap, hard to manage and fall apart. They also can/do spread and come off. These stay LOCKED ON and are much sturdier! Worth every penny!

I messes around with other types of pullers, both 2 jaw and 3 jaw and you always need 3 hands to make them grip/pull properly. The "cage" thing this puller has the slips down holds everything in place perfectly...and made very short work of pulling the pulley collar off my snowblower impeller shaft. Don't underestimate the benefit of having this puller hold all three jaws in place at one time....it's sooo much easier than using an old style regular 3 jaw puller.

Far easier to work with than 3 jaws without cage.Especially when working sideways
