Quality construction and would be easy to service if repairs are needed because nuts and bolts (rather than spot weld points) are used in the assembly of the working components of this post digger.

I purchased this to use for installing a 4x4 timber post to mount a new mailbox. I had considered "renting" a digger at $40/day, but at only $12 more, it would make sense to OWN the tool. I have only used it this one time, but am greatly IMPRESSED by the build quality. I can imagine owning this tool forever. The fiberglass handles will never need replacement! I realize there are cheaper diggers with wooden handles, BUT this thing is "built to last"!!

Purchased these to dig 4 foot holes, 18" wide. They absolutely did the trick. That said, towards the end of the job, they were getting noticeably 'creaky' - nothing some WD-40 can't fix, but I do question the overall heavy-duty nature of these and how durable/long-lasting they will be. Time will tell.

digger is well made but too large for a six inch hole. i needed something to clean out a six inch post hole.also for the dirt i have theres a lot of clay in it. gums up everything. digger should work well for sandy east Texas soil.

This post hole digger seems to be of reasonable quality, featuring a decent gauge of metal and sturdy fiberglass handles. However, when fully opened to lift out sandy soil, the handles spread quite wide. This design limits how deep or steep the hole can be. Compared to my previous post hole digger, the issue arises because the curved blades are shorter, requiring a greater angle for the clamshell to fully close. If the manufacturer extended the curved blades by an inch or two, it would significantly improve functionality.

This post hole digger is made extremely well and should last a lifetime. Would definitely purchase again
