This latch was built sturdy and to last. You could tell the quality by the weight. I had to return it only because I needed one that came with a handle also. I ordered the exact same one and it was easy to install. It fit perfect where I needed to replace and old latch on our fence. And functions wonderfully. It secured our fence.

Replaced one of those wimpy gate latches with this, major improvement!Less strain on the gate when closing (no more gate wiggle that loosens all the hardware)Feels sturdy, easy to open (I put a u shaped pipe clamp on the gate to make it easier to open/close on one side of the gate). Works great! Closes snug, no more worry if the latch didn’t catch. Looks beefy!

Really easy to install and heavy duty. I had to switch it to the other side but was super simple and thick long bolts for added security. Also.a.spot to add a lock.

Overall great latch. Easy install and super easy to flip the lever to opens from the opposite side. Heavy duty too. Only issue is the lag bolts are cheap. I had two of them have the head snap off before they were fully sunk in, so you might want to use different lags or pre drill.

Great price. Exactly matched the original latch on my fence installed with the 3 yr old fence. Easy to swap out (5 minutes) the original latch unit the fence builder used (broken pivot screw). I suspect the fence builder used this same product in the original build of my fence (in which case, the pivot screw design needs to be addressed and beefed up by the latch OEM).

The latch is very sturdy and latches very positively. No worries about the latch working itself open in strong winds. Much better than the previous latch on my gate and very easy to install.The product photos show the Right-hand installation but they have one more step to complete. The spring needs to be detached from the bottom of the fence bracket and the bolt above it also needs to be removed, then the plate is turned over so the spring can be installed to pull the latch upward again. Notice all the mounting, spring, and locking holes are mirrored top and bottom for exactly this reason. A very well designed latch for either Right- or Left-hand installation.

Was looking for a slim latch to install on our gate but this one was way bigger and wider than it appeared to be. Unfortunately outside of the return window.
