We like to eat mashed potatoes, but I have always just kind of disliked the tedious process of actually mashing. We have been using a plain old masher for years, and while it works, it tends to be a bit of a job and it is still tedious to get that perfect mash without chunks.With this ricer, we were able to very quickly mash a huge amount of potatoes with minimal effort. It does an excellent job. Very very fast, one pass through this thing after boiling them and they were perfectly and consistently mashed. When we were done, just take the two pieces apart (which is super easy) rinse and toss them in the dishwasher.While I am kind of sick to death of all of the extra little specialty items we have that are taking up space in our kitchen drawers that ultimately don't seem to really earn their keep, it is refreshing to add something like this in there that actually is well worth having. Such an easy recommendation.
