Understanding the Rods
Hold the dowsing rods steady and straight in your hands, at an arm’s length from your body. Make sure the rod ends are not tipped upward or downward. You should also make sure the rods are 9 inches (22.9 cm) from each other. Then, relax and close your eyes. Visualize the object, element or question you are seeking in your mind. Take a few deep breaths to ensure you are relaxed. Focus your mind and try to channel that focus into the divining rods. The rods will move, showing us both the direction of the item or energy being sought. Follow any pulls or tugs on the rod, moving in a path. Once the energy is found the rods may cross and/or be pulled downward.

I live in the southwest, where water is a real concern, and everyone is looking for it. I don’t know the evidence for or against dousing rods, but someone gave me a pair without the handles and everyone was interested and amazed by these little copper rods so I decided to order some with handles. Many old timers here swear they work! I just think it’s fun and fun to talk about and see in person.
