This filter eliminates telephone interference within the DSL band by interrupting the signal. You need one filter for each telephone device (telephone, fax machine, or answering machine) sharing a DSL line. Installation is easy and no wiring is required. Simply connect the phone jack end of the DSL filter to the wall jack and connect the line cord coming from the device to the other end of the DSL filter. A detailed diagram is included on the back of the packaging. Do not place a DSL filter on the phone cord connected from the wall outlet to your DSL modem.

We have a small box type phone jack, that only has 1- jack and is next to a window sill vs coming out of the wall, flush with the wall. This DSL first arrived quickly, it's package have me confidence that it was not damaged in-transit, and works very well. I am very pleased with this little filter. I may get the larger, wall mount filter to replace one that got damaged.

Did reduce the static on my MagicJack line well enough... but was far from perfect.

As I said in my title, I never got to use this item so I only want to say it arrived well packaged and undamaged. It has the feel of good quality. The item wasn't used because the phone it was purchased for had to be sent back because of very poor quality. This item cost so little it wasn't worth the trouble of sending it back for refund.

I purchased this device because I was having a lot of static and buzzing on my phone line. I was really hoping this would eliminate the problem. However, it didn’t work at all. I ended up having to have my phone lines replaced to finally fix the problem.

I recently added a land line using my internet provider as the carrier. What I found was that when on the phone both parties could hear a distinct interference like a buzz or a hum. I plugged this little device directly into my phone and then attached my internet phone cable to it. The buzz/hum was immediately gone. If voice quality is important to you then this little device is great. This device would not be required for those who have land line phones connected through a traditional telephony carrier. Great filter for eliminating VoIP interference.
