As a professional painter in NYC, I carry my tools to every job. And one of the most necessary tools for a painter is a pole. We use it for painting and sanding, so it needs to be convenient and reliable. The purdy power lock matches that criteria.Pros:If you have a purdy handle(I do), then you don't have to untwist to take your handle off. One click and it pops off and you keep moving. The ability to set the extension of the pole to your liking is also a welcome feature. You're not forced to lock in at certain increments. And last. The rubber at the end is very durable and feels good to the hand. Not to mention, if you work small spaces you may have a tendency to hit the wall behind you while using your pole. With that rubber end, at least you won't gouge the wall or hurt someone.Cons:It's a bit heavier than I like, so carrying this pole around with other tools isnt exactly practical. Takes some getting use to. The mechanism that's keeps the stick extended tends to wear down after a while, causing the stick to retract when you apply pressure.

This extension is very solid and easy to use. Price was reasonable. This is good for most interior room and hallway paint projects, but you might want to look at a longer one if you have high ceilings or odd or hard to reach angles. I have not used it on an exterior project, but it is probably a bit short for exterior projects. It definitely saves you from multiple trips up and down the ladder. I would buy it again.

Very sturdy. This has a great range for standard wall heights. Top quality construction. The only issue is that the locking mechanism did not work well with my roller frames.

I'm 5'2" and with us painting our house, I needed some help instead of using a ladder for trimming and rolling and decided to try this Purdy set up. Love it! We've done most of the house (bedrooms are all that's left) and it has been so dang handy! I wish we bought one years ago.
