What does it do?
With the press of a switch you'll have an instant hot lead or ground lead. Use the probe tip and ground lead simultaneously to power up components right in your hand. Instantly check components for continuity as well as identify positive, negative and open circuits without re-polarizing hook-up clips. Locate shorts without wasting fuses.

Power Probe 3
Power Probe 3 uses a 20ft cable which attaches to the vehicle’s battery, allowing the user to perform an electrical test anywhere in, or around the vehicle.
The PP3 is a Voltmeter and Continuity Tester, with Audible & Visual indicators along with two LED headlights to light up your work area. This circuit tester also supplies Battery Voltage or Ground to activate components. The housing is sleek and feels great in your hand. This powerful time-saver tool is perfect for every level of technician.

While the PP3 is in Power Probe Mode. Contact the probe tip to a NEGATIVE circuit. The green negative sign “-” LED will light. If the audio feature is turned on, a low pitched tone will sound.
While the PP3 is in Power Probe Mode, contact the probe tip to a POSITIVE circuit. The red positive sign “+” LED will light and the voltage reading of the circuit will be indicated on the LCD display. If the audio feature is turned on, a high pitched tone will sound.
1. Connect the PP3 to a good battery.
2. Clip the auxiliary ground clip to the trailer ground.
3. Probe the contacts at the jack and then apply voltage to them. This lets you check the func-tion and orientation of the connector and trailer lights. If the circuit breaker tripped, that con-tact is likely a ground. Reset the circuit breaker by letting it cool down (15 sec.) and depress-ing the reset button until in clicks into place.

I haven't used it yet, but I already know how great these are. It works. Arrived in perfect shape. And I got a case for it for $12 from JB Tool Sales.Most pros already know about and have one except for some guys who, and I appreciate their passion and artistry, use incandescent test lights to charge solenoids and what not.This also makes sense for a DIYer maintaining their vehicle, because you can get pretty far with just this tool. It has a volt meter built in, a test light, and you can even power components during diagnosis.Just be careful, take your time, watch some YouTube videos, and you'll get good at it quickly. In part because this guy will make things much easier. Nice long dual clamp ended cord. You can leave the clamps on the battery. You don't have to go around looking for ground. It has a built in circuit breaker to protect it from overloading. It has distinctive sounds and lights to reveal issues. It has a separate alligator clip if you want to use it like a straight test light. Just very versatile.At $60, it really is a deal. Many people have paid much more for it, and have no regrets!

I waited to buy one of these for a while because i didn't want to dish out $120 for an electronic tool. I'm glad i ultimately did. I've only had it for a week and I've already used it to diagnose lots of things on my car in much less time than it normally would've taken. for the price, suck it up and buy it. you'll find a use for it.

BUY THIS HERE YOU DON'T NEED THE FANCY BLOW MOLD CASE JUST THROW IT IN A DRAWER AND SAVE YOUR CASH FOR OTHER ACCESSORIES LIKE THE 5V REFERENCE TIP THEY SELL SEPARATE AND A FEW BANDANNA PROBE TIPS. THE 20FT CABLE THAT COME WITH THIS IS MORE THAN ENOUGH AND YOU CAN GET ANOTHER 20FT EXTENSION FOR CHEAP ON HERE TOO... This tool is great for all sorts of electrical work once you fully understand how to use it and it's limits. I paid $67 for a warehouse deal and only got the bare tool. A case would be nice along with more probe attachments. The older models are just as good as the new ones for basic electrical work. Cannot replace a multi meter for all functions though

Good product does what it says. It is expensive but the material mainly the wires and ends are good quality flexible and will work in cold or hot. So I have a tool that I will have for years and can give to my kids.

Ich habe viele Jahre mit dem PP1 gearbeitet und war immer vollstens zufrieden. Einmal eingearbeitet damit, möchte man nichts anderes mehr.Mit dem PP3 hat der Hersteller natürlich etliche Funktionen hinzu gefügt was in vielen Fällen auch das Multimeter unnötig werden lässt.Prüfspitze mit Bananenstecker ist auch klasse. Abschaltbarer Lautsprecher für alle die das gepiepse stört verdient einen Daumen hoch! Alles in allem ist das Gerät noch vielfältiger geworden!
