The old belt had 220,000 miles on it. Only time will tell how this belt performs. I was able to install in the truck. I did not have to remove the rack and pinion assembly. You will need a T27 torx bit and a 5mm hex bit and an adjustable wrench that opens to atleast 42mm. The trick I found to get the belt on was to wrap the big cog and catch the belt on the small cog and rotate the big cog slowly. Ironically using a plastic fastener removal tool for leverage against center pin on small cog worked, also worked for leverage against tension wheel to tighten belt. I had less than 1/8 of play in the belt after tightening. *if you have a whine after install, check tension on belt*watch videos on the tube completely. The old guys video! Good luck ðŸ‘ðŸ½*The belt is not directional.

I thought my trucks belt had torn but it turned out to be a completely different issue. Belt seems decent quality but it’s not always the issue.

For my 2013 f-150. I couldn't turn my wheels with out a horrible noise from the electronic steering. I was told i needed a new rack and pinion steering and it was non serviceable. After some research, I found that the belt was replaceable on my Ford. I found a local mechanic willing to try and replace it. I went from a couple thousand to just a little over two hundred dollars by having the belt replaced. This saved me a ton of money.

Did some research and found out that they have the same dimensions, so I figured I would give it a shot since the belt for the 2016 was out of stock. Just installed and seams to work out well so far.

Was taking a corner on a back road at 45mph and experienced sudden failure of the steering system. Nearly crashed and wiped out my truck with my kids in the back seat. No warning. No indication. Just sudden failure. When disassembled, the belt was shown to have snapped almost in half.I understand that when products are mass produced that defects are inevitable somewhere, but for this failure on the purchase the review warrants nothing more than 1 Star. The steering system was serviced by a Ford shop and was done by Ford master techs. So this is clearly not an issue with the labor, it is 100% a cheap and defective part.Disappointed because it was $4,300 to fix it the first time. Zero stars if I could.

Ford will not just replace the belt in your steering rack and they charge over $2k. This belt was $55.00 and I was anbke to replace it in less than 35 min
