This lamp is exactly what I needed for testing mineral specimens. It is powerful even under less than complete darkness. It switches with ease from long wave to short wave UV and makes mineral specimen identification enjoyable and efficient. The company provides excellent customer support which is also a huge plus. I had some questions on the different models-, portable vs non portable and the company responded right away. I would highly recommend this product and this company.

Purchased this light for identifying minerals in rocks Thanks to UPS throwing my package on the porch I had a loose connection. Notified the company and they took care of everything and sent out a replacement light the next day. Excellent light and customer service

This lamp is much lighter than my Raytheon UV lamp. The bulbs appears to provide better accuracy than my other lamp. My use for the product is likely more unique than standard uses.The product was shipped and arrived faster than anticipated and I believe it was a fair value for the cost. The only improvement that would have benefited me would have been a longer power cord. I also wish more companies would use the type of cord caps like vacuum manufacturers use, the cap clips onto the cord for storage.

Turned the unit on 4 times and did not leave it on longer than 5 minutes each time. Now the long wave bulb does not work. Don't waste tour money.Update, 12/28/20. Contacted by seller who suggested switching bulbs to see if the problem is the bulb or circuit. Did so and the long wave bulb was erratic whereas the short wave worked fine. Also found that the long wave bulb had hot melt glue applied to the bulb connections, but the bond had gone bad. Will keep this review updated.Update 1/2/21. Went through a check out procedure with company and everything was in place, but when turned on was still erratic. Then I discovered that the plug adaptor and my extension cord had a loose fit. No sparks, smoke or warming, just an erratic connection. Got a new cord and light works perfectly. I hope I have not lead anyone away from the purchase. The company, Advanced Instruments is very helpful and more than willing to make things right. My hat is off to them. It is a good light.
