I built a pitching machine last year and me and my uncle take it to the batting cages or the baseball diamond to use from time to time. These balls worked perfectly and they're a little softer than typical baseballs. So when you hit them, they don't go as far.

These balls are about the same weight and size as a standard baseball. However, they have a padded plastic finish that makes the ball sting less when the ball is caught. The dimpled finish makes the ball easy to grip, but there are no seams as on a standard baseball. If someone is training to be a pitcher, the absence of seams to grip is probably a deal breaker, but these balls are useful for most other purposes. I am using these balls to teach my grandson to throw and to catch the ball, and these balls are ideal for that training.

These balls work well with our pitching machine. They feel a little lighter than other yellow balls, but as long as you do not mix them they are fine.

Got these for use in the two pitching machines our team has, one is a lower end $300 and the other a $2500 machine. These balls are noticeably lighter than real baseballs and the other standard yellow dimpled balls we have. The cheaper machine has a bit of an arc to the balls it pitches and when you use these balls, they consistently hit different spots than the other balls.If you use ONLY these balls, then you can adjust the machine to throw mostly strikes, but mixing balls with different weights doesn't work. With the more expensive machine, if you crank it up to pitch at around 50mph or so, then the weight doesn't seem to have an impact and the balls mostly fly true. The benefit with these balls compared to real baseball being that they won't sting the batters if they mis-hit. Allows for longer sessions.Overall pretty good, but wouldn't suggest mixing with other types of balls if using a lower velo machine.
