I didn't know to expect a tapered shank but the quality of the device is great and accurate. It suited my purpose of being able to hold the other end of wood projects so I could work with them. Very smooth running and perfectly centered.

I've used this for turning aluminum at close to 2000RPM and heavy jobs like tail support during knurling. It has held up well.I haven't had any issues with precision, but I'm not turning super precise parts.

I have a Unimat lathe that takes MT0, but the one that I received was 3mm larger. Put me behind my work for a week to get it, and now that I have it, it is not accurate. Very disappointed.
