When using the triangle as a giant carpenter's square, the base gives you a positive reference to your workpiece edge. just hook it and mark. it also acts as a foot when you want to check a vertical face, like the side of a cabinet

I double and triple checked it to make sure it’s true. The size coupled with the lip along one edge make it a perfect angle to use with my Festool track saw. I can set it and align the track to it and I know I’ll get a good square cut on my plywood.

Where has this been all my life??? I am into precision craftsmanship, and this lets me get the kind of precision I need. I use it with my newly acquired track saw to get longer cross and rip cuts than a table or miter saw can do adequately, and they come out spot on accurate. Yes, its expensive, but its worth every penny.

I ordered one that was bent pretty bad a few inches from the tip. I ordered a second replacement which unfortunately was also bent along both the right angle edge and hypotheses. I ended up going with a different brand since this seems to be a common issue, just look at other reviews.

I really like this 18 inch triangle much better than the 16 inch version. It is quite a bit thicker and of course larger it is accurate and the price was really good.

Nice, flat aluminum, but not a "precision" square. Compared right angle with my set of Kinex DIN 875/0 and 875/1 machinist squares and this triangle was noticeably off over 8 inches. Bought this to cut down plywood and over 48 inches, the angle would be over a 1/4 inch off square.
