I purchased this Shammy cloth to supplement the squeegee we use on our shower stall. We have a tile shower stall that requires daily wiping to prevent mold build up in the grout lines. The squeegee is a fantastic tool that removes the majority of the water from the tile surface, but it doesn't reach down into the grout lines as well as we'd like. So, we've been giving the walls and water fixtures a quick wipe with a small towel to finish the job. This all works great except the towel doesn't dry as quick as we'd like and in a couple of days its saturated with water. So, we're trying this shammy as a replacement. The shammy comes pre-dampened in the packaging. But, once you take it out, it drys out pretty quickly to become hard and stiff. So, before you use it soak it in the sink and ring it out as dry as possible. It's now ready to go.In a shower, this Shammy is much too big, so we ended up cutting it in half. Also, while it effectively absorbs the water, it sticks to the glass doors and is difficult to use in a smooth wiping motion. We end up dabbing it on the surface of the door. It does work well on the tracks and the space in between the overlapping glass panels. It works as expected on the metal fixtures and tile surfaces. I generally ball it up and wipe it around. it leaves the surfaces damp but no wet spots or puddles. If you hang it up after morning showers, its dry by the next morning and needs to be rewetted. So, no damp smelly towels in the bathroom. So, far in two weeks use, I've noticed no stains or moldy smell.I would say our experiment is at least partially successful. If I were to buy it again, I would look for something smaller. Even the cut down 17" x 25" size I have now is bigger than needed. The shammy works well and is very absorbent. It's hard to use on glass and I don't see a solution to this. On the tile and metal fixtures it works great. And I like that it dry's overnight. But truthfully, it's not much better than a small towel that needs to be changed once a week. For the time being we're going to keep using it. If we change our minds, it still a great accessory for car washing. There really is no downside and I would recommend the Shammy for drying all types of surfaces around the home. It's made strong and resists tears and cuts. It's a great product.

These are very large, high quality chamois. Just ordered two more!

Trying it on the replaced left part we replaced on the SUV, but will be using it once we give it the full wash. Based on the performance and ability to draw water in, this is a keeper. It is thick, spongy, somewhat plasticky but doesn't tug on the car's paint which is what you want it to do. I didn't even use the microfiber towel to gather additional droplets as this one picked everything up on just one corner of its surface, even while folded up. Comes with its own plastic tube container.

I always used a chamois back in the 80s and 90s to dry my car after a wash -- they worked great for a spot free dry. Nowadays I have been using the newer microfiber towels that are so pervasive and they have been working we for me. It was nice to use this new chamois for that old school drying experience. They work great at picking up water and leaving a thin spot-free film of water when dragged across the car paint. When they are not very damp, they can kind of feel sticky when dragging across the surface and you have to get used to how to use them properly. It is amazing how much water this thin little chamois can pick up -- you will be amazed when you wring it out the amount of water that comes out of it.One great thing about this newer synthetic chamois compared to what I used to use in the old days is that it has a case that allows you to store it in a damp state and prevent it from getting dried out and hardening. The plastic case works great for keeping it damp and supple and ready for use. Just wring it out as well as you can before you store it -- when you roll it up, it is very easy to get back in the plastic case.

I primarily use this after washing my motorcycle. I'll blow dry the bike with a leaf blower then wipe it down with this chamois. It leaves the bike shiny with no water spots. Just wring it out, let it dry, then use it over and over again.

I don't think I would purchase again. The towel right out of the package has a weird clay texture and after use and cleaning it and letting it dry, it's hard, like an actual hard sheet. I guess if you're looking for a cheap, "big" garage towel, this would work perfect.
