Replaced an old school Cobra 25 with this Thomas FCC. Used primarily and almost exclusively for Jeeping and off-road trips with groups where some still run CBs.The Auto-Squelch, Noise Blanker (NB) and Automatic Noise Limiter (ANL) are marginal. Manually turning the squelch works fine.I am very happy with this radio. I would definitely recommend it. However, my requirements for CB are very simple and limited. If you're looking for bells and whistles, move higher up on the President product line.

I got this radio to put in my Jeep. It’s compact, yet features talk-back, weather channels, noise cancellation….features normally found on full size radios, not compact ones. This one is about the size of a Cobra 19, but in my opinion is a much better quality radio. Sound from the speaker is clear. I get pretty good distance from the radio with a Wilson 2000 antenna and 9’ coax. I was able to talk to someone who was at least 4 miles away with trees, buildings and hills in between us. Pretty good I think.

Works really well. It stands up to it's branding. I live in NY an people in Florida say it's crystal clear. Do yourself a favor, if your contemplating on getting this unit I did the guess work for you. I was skeptical going in it not going to lie. But now that I've had it for a month or so, stop thinking about it just do it, pull the trigger. Specially if your just getting into the world of CB's. Or you just want one for your car/truck or Rig. It's a very powerful unit. Look it up on YouTube an see for yourself. Get an antenna with good reviews. Read them an pick carefully. Number One Recommend!!

I like the FM, however...there is still a lot of noise. It seems that AM or other transmissions are still picked up and the automatic squelch cannot filter them all out. So, a lot of off and on noise unless I manually turn up the squelch to receive only close transmissions. Although, the cheap, short antenna I bought, might be a factor in all that. All in all, it worked good for about 3/4-mile range.

Yes, a few of us still use CB radios. My application was for a Jeep JK Wrangler. I wanted Weather, PA and compact size. I've owned Uniden, Cobra, Midland and a few others. This radio is awesome for the money.I mounted with a specialty bracket designed for Jeeps. I removed all trim to hide the wires. Radio looks good and has a ton of features. Automatic Squelch Control is probably my favorite.I will update post if anything changes, but I am done with all other brands.

I bought 14 of these radios for our traveling show fleet. They work perfectly! No more background static and annoying background noises. Crystal clear sound. Range is sufficient. Would get around a mile in the mountains. Would not go "around" large buildings though. Going to buy these for my personal use now. My only complaint is that there is a channel switch button on top of the mic that many users would hit often causing them to go off channel.

Its a basic cb but works great in my trail rig. To me its better than the cheaper Cobra. Made well and comes with a roger beep which is a cool feature for a cheaper cb. No SWR meter but I have one already so and it was easy to tune. the auto squelch is also a nice feature. Not sure how well it will work in the woods yet but seems to work well when I tried it in town.

Good small radio. You do need an SWR meter, but so what? You should have one anyway. You can use an Astatic 636 mic with this. Just set the radio for “dynamic” as per instructions. I have a home made custom mount in my truck so it sits right next to my e-log. Great for truckers who have more than one radio
