These Hygrometers are really nice. They are compact, have strong magnets built in and came with a small metal plate one could use to mount the device on a flat surface if needed.First thing I did was check the calibration using the method shown in the description. That is, fill a bottle cap with salt, saturate with just enough water to not have any overflow, place the salt cap and hygrometer(s) in a plastic zip bag and let it sit. I left the bag on the kitchen counter and after 36 hours one was holding steady at 75% and the other at 73% relative humidty. I put a small mark on the one needing calibrating and placed both on the counter to stabilize. Then set the one with the mark to match the other. The pictures show the initial set up for checking calibration, the values after after a day in the bag, stabilized on the counter and the final results.These devices are perfect for where ever a controlled humidty environment is required. In this case, I am using them to keep an eye on the moisture level for my very expensive acoustic guitars.

I’ve had this for 9 months and the sensor works great. You can see in this picture that I’m doing annual humidor maintenance and part of that was recalibrating the sensor. Very easy to do. Unfortunately after I replaced the battery, which you should do regularly, some black marks appeared on the sensor and will not go away (underneath the left “9†in the picture). Other than that, this is great.

I got this to replace my analog hygrometer and after I calibrated which worked I put it into my humidor and it reads lower than the analog so I don't know which one is correct.

I placed this digital mountable hygrometer in my cigar box as a backup, without calibrating it. To my surprise, it displayed the same humidity percentage as the hygrometer that originally came with the box. This consistency gives me confidence in its reliability.

I did the setup with the salt and the zip lock bag and so forth and gave is a couple weeks. When I was not sure it was reading right I recalibrate again. Again I wasn't sure it was reading properly so when I bought a new humidor over the Christmas holiday I dropped 6 Boveda 84% humidity packs in it to season it. I took this digital hydrometer and stuck it in the humidor where it has been for over 2 weeks now. The hydrometer in the new humidor reads 83% with the Boveda packs after 2 weeks. The digital hydrometer here shows 74% after the same amount of time. It clearly does not work as intended. I wouldn't trust this hydrometer with your best cigars

Bought this digital hygrometer for my boyfriend after purchasing him a humidor for Christmas. This one is far more accurate than the built in one and he loves it. Worth the money!
