My outdoor spigot had not been working this season. When I turned it on in the spring it leaked badly due to a cracked plastic packing nut. The washer was pretty well worn out too.I found this rebuild kit which has parts for several models. It comes with a new handle, which was useful because mine was cracked even if it still worked. With about 10 minutes of studying the parts and directions, I had selected the correct ones and installed them. I turned the water back on and everything worked as good as new.I had looked for a rebuild kit at my local hardware store a day earlier, but they were out of stock. I found this one on Amazon for about 30% less and had it the next day.The most difficult part was selecting the correct replacement parts due to it being a universal kit for Prier spigots. On the plus side, that makes it more likely to work. The only part that didn't seem to fit properly was the screw that holds the washer in place, but I just reused the old one which was brass and in good condition.Overall, I am very happy with this rebuild kit and no longer having to run around my house to another spigot turn on my hose!

The Prier 630-8500 Wall Hydrant Complete Service Kit had everything I needed.I have a very old wall hydrant (otherwise known as an outside water faucet or spigot) which was very difficult to close completely to stop water from leaking. I ordered this repair kit and it arrived in just a couple of days. The instructions were mostly informative, though if you don't have some mechanical know how might be a tad bit confusing. If you're "good with your hands", you shouldn't have a problem. It took me all of about 10 minutes to disassemble my wall hydrant, swap out the old parts with the new, and put it back together.Problem solved. The faucet now works easily and I don't have to crank on the handle to stop the leaks when I close it.I would definitely recommend trying this kit (or one like it that is specific to your faucet), if you have a leaky or hard to operate faucet. The cost is just a small fraction of what you would need to pay a plumber to do it for you.

Had a 400 series faucet that was leaking from the screw and the vacuum seal. This kit has all the parts to fix both issues. Took about 15 minutes. Some reviews say the parts aren't the same, that the rubber disc is graphite, etc. By first glance they did not appear to be but on close examination the old parts were the same just fused together with time and color had changed from age and wear. My old disc was also graphite substance even though it appeared to be rubber. Long way to say no leaks anywhere after using this kit.

The Mansfield Prier kit was precisely as advertised. As other reviews have stated, the kit is pricy but does provide everything required (apart from the stem) to totally rebuild a wall hydrant. In my case the faucet is 30 years old; finding repair parts for other plumbing fixtures of any age is rare indeed these days.My reason for the moderate rating is with the packing and shipping by Adventurer’s Bag. At the time I ordered the products (I ordered 2) were available through Adventurers Bag on Amazon Prime or at least free shipping. As of 2 Oct 19, that supplier no longer offers that product (630-8500) at all, and only a plumbing supply firm offers, Non-Prime, with $15 shipping to Alaska. The two repair kits arrived in a half, letter sized padded Manila envelop, pretty completely stuffed (see picture). The polypropylene covers of both packages were pretty well smashed, but the glue securing to the cardboard backing appeared intact and had been reinforced with staples at each corner. As the contents did not appear to be damaged (mostly rubber and nylon parts) and “Winter is Comingâ€, I proceeded with rebuilding both hydrants. On the second unit, midway through the job, I discovered that a couple of the most critical washers were missing. Fortunately, I found both missing parts inside the packing envelop and I was able to complete the job. Had I tossed the packing envelop in yesterday’s trash, there would have been one very unhappy customer. If Amazon’s third party fulfillment providers can’t stomach the cost to pack and ship properly to ensure product arrives in good order and still ship free, shouldn’t be in the business.

Rebuilt our wall hydrant stem with this kit for a fraction of replacing it. Easy to do and works the way it should.
