Your cart is empty.Cap nuts, or acorn nuts, are hex nuts with a domed top. They cover the end of the bolt tip, which protects the threads and provides a finished appearance. Since protruding bolt tips can catch skin or clothing, use of cap nuts can also help to prevent injury.

These acorn nuts feel weighty and solid, with a good shine. They appear to be good quality. The matched an 8-32 threading when tested with a gauge and fit my lanterns well. The brass nuts added made the inexpensive lanterns look much more elegant.
