This is a screen retainer spline designed to be use for securing various types of screen fabric into a window screen or screen door frame. It is 0.250 inch (1/4 inch) in diameter, and made of a top quality round, serrated vinyl with a hollow core. Color is black. 25 ft. per roll.

This was almost too thick but worked with a little extra work and a screwdriver. Needed size 0.230 but couldn't find that size.

So like a few others, I ordered the wrong size. This spline seems to be way too thick for your average screen. But unlike the few that gave this item a low review because of their own mistake, I can still say that I would highly recommend this item. It's thick, strong and well made. So well made that I plan on ordering the correct size from this manufacturer. I also have no plans of returning the incorrect spline because I have a screen door that this may fit, and it would be good to have around just in case. And to those that gave a low review because you didn't take the time to research which spline fits your screen (like me), your review is in no way helpful or fair to the manufacturer.

It's hard to "love" spline but 4 stars seems fair. I bought this because on-line reviews said it was the right diameter to replace the aluminum ribs used for Anderson(tm) window screens, and this was not available at the local home centers. It works OK, no reflection on the spline itself, but I think you could go up one more size to get a tight fit.

Like many other reviewers, I used to replace aluminum spline. In combination with the SCREEN MOUSE ROLLER TOOL by PHIFER (found on Amazon also) installation went flawlessly.Andersen windows suggests replacing entire screen - wasteful and pricey.

This is the only spline sufficiently thick to do these Anderson screens. It fits snugly and you have to press the spline tool firmly to get it in. My wife assisted by keeping the screen taut as I put in the spline. Plan to order more to do 2 other windows.

Go product - no issues with quality. Just make sure you are ordering the right (diameter) size. I didn't and had to order another size. Gave this one to a friend that could use it.
