My general review is that they are very good locks. I''m not a locksmith, but have plenty of experience with hardware and locks. These are good quality and they operate smoothly. I bought 2 keyed alike. They also come with a number of "options" such as the ability to have the locks turn 90 degrees or 180 degrees in either direction based on which included hardware you select. They also come with an assortment of cams. You can stop reading here unless you have Craftsman 26" tool boxes. For 26" Craftsman tool box owners- these locks will absolutely work. For bottom/rolling type cabinets, it's very straightforward with two minor points here. 1) use the retaining clip from the original lock (if you have it) instead of the nut to hold the lock barrel in place. The clearance isn't quite adequate to spin the nut onto the lock barrel. You can always spin the lock into the nut but it's more difficult to tighten. 2) use the straight (not offset) cam because these lock barrels are slightly longer than the originals and the offset puts the cam "too far" into the cabinet. This will make sense as you're installing. For the upper chest type cabinet, you will either need to use the old cam or cut a "hook into the new one. I used the old cam. The original lock cam is riveted to the lock barrel vs. screwed on the new one. Using a grinder, grind down the rivet until you can remove the cam. Even though it appears round when riveted, it will have the same square fitting needed on these locks when you remove it. You may need to gently (don't break it off) bend the hook in the toolbox lid or bend the cam slightly to get the right alignment. Hope this is a useful review and advice.

Lock was installed but the large nut that hold the lock in place strips out to easy so you cannot tighten it too much which results in play in the entire mechanism. Worth what I spent, But next time will spend a little more to get a little more.

My lock on the bay door of my RV went bad, couldn’t get it unlocked consistently. This was a direct replacement and it fit just perfectly. Came with different size cams to fit different needs, nice product.

I have been moved a few times at work because buildings are redesigned, places are closed, etc. and I always end up having leftover and cast-off furniture and bookcases since I am the "new" person, and they never EVER have matching keys. There are locks, but no keys. Sometimes I can find the maker and the number and order keys, other times, they are mystery items and I cannot find out enough about them to order keys. I suppose I could disassemble them and take them to the lock smith, but that would probably cost me as much as just replacing them. And some are so beat up, I want new ones anyway. These are great for replacing the lock sets. I sometimes have to use a washer or special latch or something that was on the no-key set I am removing, but otherwise these come with most parts that I need. I haven't had any especially weird holes in my desk or furniture to fill, they seem pretty universal. Maybe the depth can change, but most things are quite similar and can work (with maybe a washer or something.) Now I can lock my stuff. I swear I have done this to at least 6 or 7 items in the last 3 years. If I leave a desk or cabinet, I always tape the keys in the drawer. Why don't people do this!!??? If I know who is taking my office, I will just give them the keys, however if it is some jerk who was mean to me...I don't. Ha ha!!!

Only had it for a week but it works good. Comes with little things to adjust the lock to whatever you're putting it into and was easy to install.
