I just fell in love with this kind of eraser when I tried my first one. (1970s? 1980s?) So much clearer erasing and so much easier on the paper than either the big pink erasers or the art gum erasers. Big pink erasers from school which I left holes in paper with, and had no idea there was anything better. Except for art gum and I never did like art gum, they always disintegrate on me...maybe I'm rubbing too hard?(I know there are other kinds of erasers, too, but I've only just them, and really can't compare to those, yet.)Anyhow, my favorite kind of eraser. I had to buy a new one. The old ones are really old. (Probably older than some of the readers, and quite grubby.)They last quite a long time, too.

I love this eraser because it's very easy to eares colored pencils as you can see in the photo. And it's very gentle on paper.

I use this eraser for removing grapite pencil marks during sketching and for erasing unwanted color from my Pan Pastels. I will occassionally use it for my watercolor pencils but sometimes the color will be too dark and the color will smear after the use of Magic Rub. Not too big of a deal if you're just going to cover the smeared work with other colors. Also, this eraser is good for adding definition in my Pan Pastels and shaded sketching. Definately a good buy consider how inexpensive it is on Amazon.

When left in a hot bag or pocket the blank print on the eraser got melted and smudged making it look bad, does not seem to affect how it works but occasionally leaves black smudges on fingers.

Very good eraser that works very well with coloured pencils, it is also ideal for layering as it does not erase the colour completely and so gives a very good base to start with
