I have been looking for quality swim pants for a while and these do not disappoint. I have not been in the water yet and I am not a swimmer/water person but I wanted something to wear in a pool or on the beach when the opportunity came up. I am self conscious in a bathing suit or even capri length so these really cover up and was what I was looking for. I sized up to XXL (170 lb) and they feel good and not too big except they are a couple of inches too long. I believe they are like 31 inches and 30 inches was my goal to find. I have large ankles so the length mattered and I won’t complain that they are truly longer. The material is not see thru (I got navy blue) and the pockets are nice /deep. It feels like bathing suit material and is lightweight.

The fabric is nice and thick, it's not see through and flimsy. The pockets could be deeper. I have a mini smartphone, and the top peeks out, which makes me nervous since I live in a big city and it might be more tempting to swipe it if they can see the phone. Plus, I'm a little worried it will fall out. I have the body measurements of large, more or less, but it was loose fitting. Not bad loose fitting, but not needing 4 way stretch. Plus, I'm going to go vacation in a hot country, and I'm not sure I want hot sweaty skin tight pants on. I did end up buying small, which I was hesitant to do so in the first place because I was a little worried about above pant spillage, but it was fine. I might actually even consider buying extra small as the small fits well, but again, not needing the 4 way stretch or the fancy tummy control.

Purchased these pants in Size Large Color Black, and Size ’Medium-Large’ Color Navy. ---Private Island Women UPF 50+ Side Pockets Long Leggings Pants Swim Beach Swimsuit Rash Guard Bathing Bottom (L, Black-RLLP) ---Private Island Women UPF 50+ Side Pockets Long Leggings Pants Swim Beach Swimsuit Rash Guard Bathing Bottom (M, Navy-RLLP)Note: Size “Medium-Large†is Medium on the tag.TL/DR Mediums fit great overall but I am returning because they are too tight at the waist. Large was too baggy so I noticed scratchy seams.For reference I am 5’6†~120# slenderPros:—Love that they have pockets!!—Good rise. If I pulled them all the way up they were just below my belly button. Since they fit well around top of legs/butt/crotch I could position them lower without the crotch getting baggy. So they could be worn mid or low rise.—“M, Navy-RLLP†fit well on legs, and therefore I did not notice all of the seams.—“L, Black-RLLP†fit better at waist.Cons:—Medium was a bit too small at the waist. If I wear them mid or low rise they are not flattering because my waist bulges over the top (muffin top). If I pull them up higher to just below bellybutton it looks more flattering because it holds in that section of my waist, but they feel tighter, and my skin still bulges out above the top a little bit. The top band is about 1 inch; a different style without that defined top band would be more flattering. But the band probably would help the pants stay in place and waist stay up when in the water.—Large was too loose on legs. Because the fabric was looser it moved more so I could feel all of the seams. The seams are regular style that stick out, so I could feel all of the seams on legs and crotch, and they felt scratchy.I am returning both of these pants. I purchased another brand (see below) that had flat seams. The other brand’s size Large fit more comfortable around waist. The legs were not as fitted as the Private Island mediums, and not as loose as the Private Island Large. Unfortunately the other brand doesn’t have pockets in the pants or shirt, but I got a hoodie that has pockets.FYI - Some of the swim/sun shirts sold at Costco have hidden pockets (could fit smaller items like ID). Years ago I bought Hand Ten brand that had a pocket on the lower back. I love these! I have worn them swimming every day for nearly a month now. I swim in the lake for an hour, then come home a rinse them out to dry for the next day. They are pretty enough to wear as leggings under a tunic for casual errands or work….and then straight to to pool or beach for a swim. I got the black ones with the lacy flocked side band. They are lightweight, cool, and moisture wicking in this hot hot summer. I plan to order more ASAP as these are very inexpensive for the quality.

Description says good for pools. I bought the Navy color. I've only been in the pool about a dozen times and they have faded drastically in a short time. And the fade is really strange. Along the lines of my swimsuit underneath and around the seams are all lighter than everywhere else. Contacted seller since the description says "This Swimwear must be Guarantee refund or replacement any reason." but they said they could not help me because they are a FBA Seller on Amazon.com and that I have to contact Amazon customer service.

Fabric is soft and stretchy and quality was good. I use these for water sports and they don't dry--fabric is heavier than other swim pants I own (which are more like bathing suit fabric). Fabric stays wet, which is why I gave it 3 stars. I keep my phone in the pocket for paddle boarding and that works well. I'm trying to figure out how I could know which leggings are very fitted and which are looser as they have the same name "leggings swim pants" but these were looser in the calf and a another pair were a size up and more fitted style. I do like both, but would be important to know what you are ordering as they're different.

I'm use to wearing rash guard swim tights, size XL that fits to my body. I ordered white size XXL. I was concerned, because of the color, that you might see through them. This fabric is thicker, and not as stretchy as tights, and they are not see through. They fit loose around the ankles, and legs. I added elastic to the hem, so they won't rise up while swimming. It depends on what you're looking for. Swim tights, or leggings. In my opinion, these would be a very nice pair of leggings.
