The Wheeler Pro Sight seems to be very accurate. I have tried other bore sights in the past which were caliber specific and never had much luck with results. This sight is easy to use and the result were better excellent. Very good quality product. I got the green laser. I felt the green had some advantages over the red especially when bore sighting red dot scopes or anything with a red reticle. Here is how I found as the best way to use the bore sight:I have an area in my house with a long hallway and was able to set up a small portable table with clear line of sight at 16 yards. In reality if you can get the target and rifle about 25 yards that would be more ideal, but 16 yards was the best I could do indoors. The first optic I mounted was a Sig red dot. With the red dot turned off, I held the rifle in my normal comfortable shooting position and moved the optic along the Pic-rail until the eye relief was in a comfortable position. This went on a .40 pistol carbine. The second optic mounted was an ACOG non led 3.5X scope. This was going on a 308 AR10 style rifle. After both optic were secure on the rifles then I began the bore sighting process. First I did the red dot optic.1) I placed the rifle in a cleaning rest ( any type of rest is good, the idea is to make the rifle stable so that you are free to use both hands). Make sure the rifle is totally unloaded and nothing in the chamber before proceeding.2) I put some blue painters tape over the magnet just to provide a protective barrier between the barrel and the magnet. Mounting the bore-sight I found was easier to approach at an angle and ease it on the barrel. The magnet is super strong and I did not want to let it snap attached to the barrel. After it is in place the idea is to center the hole of the barrel about dead center of the magnet. Then I turned on the green laser.3) The next step was to take the included reflective target and already having the rifle and green laser pointing at the wall, I used painters tape to attach the target to the wall so that the green laser was exactly on the bulls-eye.4) Next, I turned on the red dot and made windage (right-left) and elevation (up-down) adjustments until my red dot was lined up with the green laser. A trick that helped me was to turn the red dot up in brightness to where it was slightly brighter than the green dot. This allows almost an eclipse effect to be seen when you get the two dots lined up. I think this is also an advantage to having the green bore sight vs the red. At this point the bore sighting is complete.5) same process with the ACOG except you line up the reticle ad center to the green laser.Range results: (indoor range):This was a .40 pistol carbine and was a new rifle. I put the target at 25 yards and fired two shots (bench rested). The groups were within 1/2 inch so I was pleased with the grouping. POI on both shots were about 4 inches high and about 3 inches left of where I had the red-dot. This was very impressive to me to be more than just on paper at 25 yards. A few shots and adjustments later and I was ready to move out to 50 yards and complete the sighting in process. Non- Magnified red dots I only sight in to 50 yards especially with this just being a pistol carbine.Next up was the 308. This was a rifle that I already knew held very tight sub moa groups so I just lined it up and fired one shot but tried it at 50 yards and I was amazed to be on paper at 50 yards with the first shot. The shot was about 7 inches low and about 5 inches right but for bore sighting I was really impressed with how close this Wheeler pro got me. After some adjustments I was ready to move to 100yrds and completed the sight in process.Over all I am very impressed with this bore-sight. It is truly a multi-caliber bore sight and much more accurate than caliber specific sights that I used in the past which required plugs inserted into the barrel.Pros: Quality built Strong laser (green) accurate Easy to useCons: Price higher than others but more accurate and well built Wish the laser brightness could be dimmed when using indoors but this is a picky complaint.

I bought this bore sighting tool because the owner of the local gun store recommended it. It’s been a great purchase and has made it very easy to sight in my new optics. It’s well made. The laser is strong and easy to see, even in daylight. The magnetic attachment makes it quick and easy to use. It’s allowed me to sight in guns in just a few minutes. I’ve found it to be very accurate, so I have great comfort with anything I’ve sighted in with it. If you’re a gun owner, this is a must-have tool.

I do not know how or why, but this device truly works. I have used it on iron sights, lasers, and scopes. All of them were in the black at 50 yards. I adjusted and moved out to 100 yards for the final adjustments. It should pay for itself in saved ammunition. It is highly magnetic, so you need to attach it to something magnetic, such as directly to your barrel.

I would give this 3.5 stars. I have many scopes/red dots to sight in and don't want to waste ammoHere's what I love about it:1. easy to use on ANY firearm (including hand guns, SBRs, shotguns, air rifles, etc...) that has a metal barrel2. get you in the vicinity (close by 1-2mils) see my gripes below3. well made and shipped quickly via amazon prime4. Easy to see even without the reflective target provided in the kitSucks:1. Gets you within 2-3 mils which is fine at 25-50meters. However I noticed that when I was at beyond 50meters spun the bore sighter a little, then the point of aim would shift between 2-3 mils for a 180deg rotation.2. if you're not careful the metal surface of the magnet can scratch your crown. Who wants to scratch the crown of their expensive bolt action riffle ? I wanted to put a piece of gaffers tape over it but was worried that it would further change the point of aim.Improvements: 1. if they placed a uniform piece of teflon coated plastic over the magnet to prevent the scratching2. maybe when I get the new one I'll calibrate it against a scope that I know is zeroed (i.e. position the laser over barrel in the perfect position to line up the crosshairs and then use this same positioning on future rifles?)Sent it back for a new one to see if this was a QC issue. I'm assuming they computer calibrate it from the factory. Overall 3.5 stars given the 2 gripes listed above but I'm willing try see if a replacement is any better. I;ll update the review if based on

I've used an in-bore model for years and never was happy with the results. This thing is brilliant, it works by just magnetically mounting to the muzzle, so it works with nearly any firearm, or BB gun for that matter. My only skepticism was whether the muzzle would be perpendicular to the line of bore to make this approach work. To test this, I first mounted iron a stainless steel Remington model 700 that I knew was dead on and the green dot was about an inch or so above line of sight at 100 yards, which is perfect. I then tried it on a .22 and at 100 yards it was about eight or ten inches high which is also about perfect. I then rotated the unit while pointed at a 100 yard target and it subtended an arc of perhaps two or three inches. That is pretty darn good. Thus satisfied, I proceeded to boresight a new rifle; the image is for a 100 yard target at dusk.I couldn't see the dot clearly much beyond 20 yards before dusk, but I didn't try the included reflective target at distance. Line of sight and line of bore typically intersect well before 20 yards, so this is useful for getting on the paper in broad daylight, or verifying that the sights are still close. If you are wondering if the price is worth it, consider that I wasted $50 of ammo on my cheap in-bore laser while never finding zero; this thing will pay for itself in two or three uses. It comes in a nice case, and is robustly constructed. Just buy it!

Returned a previous bore sighter that went inside the barrel because the laser simply didn’t last long enough with the small cell battery. This sighter uses a larger battery and has been dropped more times than I can count without the laser being thrown off or the sighter being damaged. This thing is durable.Only complaint is the magnet is somewhat weak and If you don’t hold it on the barrel as you set up or aren’t somewhat gentle the sight will fall off the end of the barrel entirely.I’ve yet to be able to test my rifle and shotgun at the range after laser bore sighting to see how close it gets me on paper or to target but so far so good!

I don’t how I lived without this tool. It is visible in any light and long distance as well. I got green laser.I use it all the time. Note, it is magnetically attached to the muzzle of a weapon. If you have a muzzle break made of non magnetic material such as aluminium alloy it will not work.

OverviewThis is not intended to zero you (even at 25 meters). It is just intended to get you on paper...before you go through the process of dialing in.We've all been in a situation where you are so far off...your point of aim is anyone's guess. This is a simple solution to get you on paper, and eliminate the frustration and embarrassment of "shooting in the dark"I have used it on, red dots, low power scopes (under 9 power) , high power scopes (15 power or higher) and a variety of iron sights...with great success. They provide clear instructions on using at 25 meters. What I have learned. The unit does not have to be centered on the muzzle crown. If it's off by a cm...you will be about 1 cm off center getting on paper at 25. The unit is designed around the assumption you have perfect geometry on your muzzle. That should not be an issue for most firearms. I even used it on an IPSC Open Gun...where the attachment point is a barrel comp...and it worked fine. It's a little pricey...I have the red version...with no issues using it to bore sight in red dot sights.Works best in overcast conditions, and with reflective targets. You would need to reduce your distance on very sunny days.Note, the magnet is string. I mount it by bringing it up to the muzzle at a 45 degree angle, and then just pivot it in to place. It will snap on pretty hard if you just apply it so the contact points are parallel.Very useful if you actually need one 9to expensive to be a dust collector) Pros-Very smart design.-Extremely easy to useCons-Price point is a bit high (it's just a low power lazer on a magnet after all) Would be 5 stars + otherwiseRecommendation – Would buy it again and would recommend.
