Product Description

Pro-Graad's SuperGrindz Mounted Flap Wheels, measuring 2" x 1" x 1/4" Shank, are an excellent option for a variety of applications such as deburring, scale removal, polishing, graining, flash removal, and light grinding in tight areas like the interiors or exteriors of tubes or pipes. The flap wheels comprise aluminum oxide abrasive flaps arranged in a fan pattern surrounding the straight spindle shank of the wheel. The fan pattern design enables the x-weight, premium abrasive cloth to evenly wear as the wheel is used, unveiling fresh, sharp aluminum oxide abrasive grains. This design ensures consistent grinding & finishing throughout the flap wheel's use. Moreover, the flexibility of the flaps allows the wheel to adjust to the contours of workpieces and smooth out irregular or rounded surfaces.

These wheels fit a 1/4" chuck die grinder or a regular drill motor. The material makes short work of rust and paint and can clean up rough edges after cutting and grinding. The media lasts pretty well although after a while of sanding you may need to press a little harder to get to the unused portions nearer the center of the wheel. These things are safer than wire wheels but eye protection is a must with anything that could fling a piece of rust etc up towards your face. If you use them in a drill you can reverse them, in a die grinder you wear out one side since most won't run backwards.
