I have spent so much money on vacuum's as an adult it's honestly disgusting. I've had almost every brand from the dyson balls, to the highest rated dyson and shark sticks, even the off brand stuff like Tineco etc. All my stick vacuums have basically been trash after a year or 2 and the expensive Dyson ball was always outperformed by an old, loud shark. all that to say, I'm pretty judgmental on vacuums. Our current house is 100% wood floors throughout with rugs under beds/furniture. We grabbed this on a whim and overall, it is an amazing vacuum. I would rate it 4/5 on solid/hard surface and 5/5 on rugs and carpets. A couple of thoughts overall: It IS pretty big. Consider you storage space as this takes up some room and can be a bit awkward to store if you don't remove the hose from he canister. The cord is really long, so if you're like me and hate corded units (even if you can't dey their superior power) know that you can get a lot done with one plugin. We can vacuum our 3,000 sq ft house with 2 or maybe 3 plug changes. The filter system is easy to clean and the canister holds a lot of material meaning more vacuuming and less dumping. It comes with plenty of attachments for different uses and the hose makes the hand-held attachments particularly useful. The only bad things I'll mention: The on/off button is near the bottom of the canister on one side. I'm not very flexible and it is not easy for me to turn on and off once I have the backpack on (my wife doesn't struggle with this like I do). The stick that the head mounts on is metal. If you remove the head to do baseboard/toe-kick cleaning, you have to put on one of the little plastic head attachments as the metal tube itself is rather sharp and can scratch/gouge floors. That's about it really. All in all, a great product. Especially impressive on carpet and rugs. We've been using for almost 2 months now and we find ourselves using this more and more and the cordless sticks less and less. Glad we got this.

This vacuum is pretty heavy and I would consider this more for commercial use. It's hard to store, awkward to use, and the replacement filters are expensive. That being said, it does have great suction and if you had a large space to do, it's perfect. Also it does stairs easily. It is well made, but I'd steer clear using this for basic household chores.

Who likes vacuuming? I do, after getting this Prolux vacuum. It’s powerful (picks up even those little feather fluff bits from the down comforter), it makes vacuuming easier (stair treads are no longer avoided!) and it’s even kind of fun (a backpack!).I’ve had a battery-powered vacuum for a few years now and had forgotten how a corded vacuum can be so much more powerful—this thing has a strong suction and makes it easy to get even the bits of cracker crumbs in a carpet with a lot of nap. Yes, there’s a cord, but this one is long enough (35 feet) and heavy-duty in construction so it doesn’t coil up and tangle easily. I truly forgot it wasn’t cord-free because this backpack unit is so light and easy to use.I have narrow shoulders so I really appreciated the chest strap—it helps keep the adjustable shoulder straps in place. Do make sure and adjust the waist strap so it’s positioned just above your hip bones—that way your hips are carrying what weight there is.I like the cannister style with no bag—I can “see†how much I’ve collected in the cannister quickly and so I’m more prone to empty it more often than I did a previous unit with a “bag†collection system. After using this backpack vacuum, I can see why professional house cleaners use a backpack style vacuum: With this you’re free to move around and vacuum what you need with no limitations of pushing a heavy unit everywhere.Plenty of attachments make it easy for me to use on a wool rug, underneath a sofa sitting on a hardwood floor, on those carpeted stair treads and even on our upholstered chair. The light is really helpful on the power nozzle so I can see what I’m sucking up. You can even load the attachments on the waist belt! The filtration system seems good—even when I’m vacuuming up the area around the cat’s litter box, the dust doesn’t get kicked up and make a mess.I was concerned about having the sound of the vacuum too close to my head and ears but it wasn’t a problem for me--and it didn’t even trigger my watch to warn me about too loud of sounds nearby!
