Nice sized gaff-4’. Easy to handleCons: butt protector on handle cap fell out, and point protector lanyard broke. They don’t have replacement parts believe it or not.

gaffed a halibut today with my new gaff. It worked great! Later I laid it in a stream to rinse the salt off and yes it deed does float. The reason I only gave it 4 stars is because after laying in the water for a couple of minutes it got some water inside the handle. I don't see anyway to remove it with out drilling a hole. I will live with the little bit of water in it. Other then that it is a very nice gaff!Up date: Two new problems! First the sides of three sided sharpened tip are very sharp and cut my line on a botched gaffing attempt causing me to loose a nice halibut. I filed of the edges so that won't happen again. The second issue is the handle came loose from the gaff. I gaffed another halibut and lifted to get it in the boat but the handle let go so the gaff and fish when back in the bay. All I was left with was a foam handle. So now I have no fish and no gaff. I'm very disappointed on the quality of this gaff. I can over look a lot of things but when a gaff cost me a couple of fish I have to draw the line! If you buy this gaff beware and know you will need to modify it so you don't loose fish!
