I'm no Neil Peart, (I'm actually just learning), so there's the disclaimer.I've been playing bass and guitar for over three decades and recently decided to take up the drums. These sticks don't make much difference on the eKit (joke), but on the rag-tag acoustic kit I hobbled together they are really fun. Somewhere in between sticks and brushes (more on the stick side).I'm working on the subtleties of stick control and the amount of force at which the stick hits the head.I like the tones the bamboo rods produce. Being new at the drums I'm not sure how to describe it. There are a lot of little subtle tones that vary with the force you use. I still need to practice with them and get a better feel for what I can do with them. So, as a beginner, the bamboo sticks have a great feel (was expecting the grips to be a little too smooth) and make a solid connection with the head while still giving a nod to brushes. I have not had a set of rods before, so I'm not sure how to compare them to the lower cost average set of rods.I will say these are well built, solid, feel great (nice grip), produce a lower volume than sticks, and they have an adjustable 0-ring that changes the tone a bit.It is nice to have a new tool in the box to experiment with. It seems like they will last for a while.OK, now it's time to go practice....

I expected these to be different. That is why I purchased them. Largely to have another set of tools in the toolbox. They come in handy playing at lower volumes and sound great on most of my ride cymbals. Good thing is, unlike other bamboo sticks, the shoulder is solid, so if you need to do bell work, it is not inherently muffled. For those on the fence about these, one thing to keep in mind is they'll be much harder to break. Cost is high, but you'll have them for a while (I do not know about you, but my practice area shows signs of the many deceased pairs of predecessor bamboo rods-- Ive broken countless pairs). The construction of these sticks is bang-on, durable. Good rebound, too. The feel/weight will take some getting used to, for sure. They are considerably heavier compared to other rods. Definitely high quality with solid utility for specific applications. I do not use them often, but when I do, I'm confident they'll hold together like the Millenium Falcon. Hope this helps-

I'd never seen a drumstick like this and decided to try it. First off, this is beautifully made, so it will stay with my other drumsticks. It has a slightly different sound and action compared to other drumsticks I have. Still, I'll need more practice with it before I fold it into being a regular part of my set. It's certainly the *coolest* looking drumstick I have.

I got them home and tried them, not great balance and reduced tone. I returned them, not worth the money.

These bamboo drumsticks are constructed very well and they can be adjusted with an O-ring. They are easy to hold onto. I love the soft sound these drumsticks produce. These are great to have in certain situations.

I'm unfortunately not a drummer, but got it for my son (age 7) who likes to bang on buckets. He likes switching between the different ends, and I've used it on occasion and find them pretty nice to use.

It is a bit unbalanced at first since I am not used to using a hybrid type of sticks, but the more I use it, the more it feels more comfortable. I'd say this is between a brush and a regular stick, I am not sure if it is worth the asking price but it is fun to try if you are able.

These are my first pair of rods and I am impressed with the quality, performance, and tone of these rods. The construction and materials are top notch and I expect to get many years of trouble free use out of these rods. The adjustable O-rings are an amazing feature as they enable me to fine tune the tone and sound that these rods impart. A really great idea that is implemented so well! The rods feel balanced and are easy to grip which allows for hours of enjoyment without fatigue.I love the sound and tone of these rods. So focused, clean and tight.I recommend these rods to anyone looking for quality and great performance.
