I love, love, love this case. It’s very protective for not being a hardshell and is lighter, of course. It has the usual carry handle, as well as one on the back, which I use a lot to just move the bass a short distance. It has lots of pockets and I can store all my sheet music, some bass books, setup tools, cords, etc. It keeps everything very organized.I think my favorite feature, though, is that it also has straps on the back so you can wear it as a backpack. They have a nice pocket they go into when you’re not using them, and it’s very quick to pull them out or put them in.The case has held up for years, with no broken stitches or anything. You wouldn’t want to take this on a plane, but for everything else, it’s great.

This is a great bag. The material is tough. The seams are solid. I used it for a GSR205. I liked that the straps mount higher than typical similar bags. That means the headstock sits lower and I'm less likely to catch it in a doorway. The endpin padding is good. The pocket space is well thought-out. Even though this would probably hold up for a while, if I was throwing my instruments in a trailer I might want to stick to a hard case. Got this one because the ibanez rectangle molded case was too long and wide to fit perpendicular in my current vehicle. This fits much better. Only thing I would change at this point is the extra padding around the endpin. With the Dunlop strap lock endpin the extra padding doesn't touch the body. The bass is resting in the endpin. Suppose if it dropped on the end the padding might come into play. Wish it was a tad thicker to cushion that bottom, but it's still plenty.

I have both the bass and guitar version and these cases have excellent construction with stiff reinforced edges you rarely see, even in more expensive gig bags. Light weight but very sturdy and quite reasonably priced considering the build quality

I bought this bag to transport my Reverend Dub King bass or Reverend Manta Ray guitar to practice and to gigs. My bass is a short-scale semi-hollow and it is a snug fit around the body, but I think should work fine. The guitar fits fine in this case (guitar is too long to fit in my other guitar case that is similar to this one - hard/soft combination made by Breedlove, which I also really like).I'm a tiny female (5'2" and 98 lbs) and this bag works great for me:1) This bag offers much more protection than the padded bass gig bag that I have.2) It is also better for me for transportation to gigs than the hard cases which take up a lot of room. The hard cases fit in the back seat (take up the whole seat) do not fit in the trunk of my car (Mazda 3 sedan). And, I take one bass and two guitars to whole band gigs (an electric and an acoustic electric) in addition to my other gear (amps, mics, etc) and sometimes other band members.3) I really like the straps on this as well as I can just sling it on my back, leaving my hands free to carry other things.4) This bag is lighter for me to carry than the hard shell cases (again, I am a tiny female).5) I wouldn't fly with this case but not why I bought it.6) Price point was great - I got it on sale!

Protec makes great cases. I already had a Protec saxophone case that I really like. This one was a real problem solver. It gives you the protection of a case, but only takes up the room of a gig bag. You see, every Tuesdays and Thursdays, I needto fit five people and a bass in my old Prius. The bass has to fit entirely in the trunk. In a gig bag, it does fit, but no other case would. This one does.Things you might want to know: There are three pockets on the outside, but no real storage inside except for a little zippered pouch for pencils or coins, or ??? There are two carrying options: either one handed with a double handle, or on your back with backpack straps. There is no single shoulder-slung strap. The top outside pocket is pretty roomy. I can easily fit a couple effect boxes. But my Dunlop Wah pedal would be too big to fit anywhere. It's more expensive than other options, but you get your money's worth in quality materials, craftsmanship and attention to detail.

This case is great. It's padded really well and has tons of storage available. Seems very sturdy and I'm sure I could drop my bass down a flight of stairs and it'd be ok. I've managed to fit my P-Bass, Jazz Bass, and six string Schecter Stiletto Studio so I don't think you'd have issues fitting almost any bass in here.

Sturdy, shoulder straps that you can hide and zipper is great! A tab on the heavier side.

Amazing piece of gear. Fender Jazz, Stingray 5, Ibanez SR505 all fit no problem. Basses feel super secure and protected. TONS of extra storage, you can fit micro head, cables and and a couple of pedals and have room to spare. Also lots of little pockets for batteries, tuner, allen wrenches, etc. And despite all this it doesn't feel bulky. Shoulder straps are nice and thickly padded. Nice, heavy duty canvass material - this case just exudes quality without drawing attention to itself. For this price I really couldn't be happier.

It isn't a case, but it is as close to a case as any gig bag I have ever seen. Unless I knew absolutely that I could carry it onboard the plane, I probably wouldn't fly with it, but I would use it for nearly any other mode of travel. It has thin rigid PP inserts in the top and back and honeycomb foam sides making the bag semi rigid, offering far more protection than with any other gig bag I have used. As long as you don't stack gear on top of this, your bass will be well protected. The padding is good, the pockets are numerous and well appointed, I like the moveable Velcro neck stabilizer, and the zippers, straps, and buckles are top notch. I compared this to the Mono and I liked the Protec Contego better. That it is cheaper is an unexpected bonus. This is now my go to bag for bass gigs. I will likely also get the electric guitar version in the near future. I highly recommend this bag. Oh, and for the record, it most certainly DOES fit a Precision bass - mine is in there right now.

I got this gig bag because I wanted something that protected like a hardshell case but I could still carry on my back while riding my bike or walking around on public transit. This does the job perfectly. It's also great if you're piling it into the back of your car with all your other stuff, it is rigid enough and has enough padding to feel your guitar is safe. As close to hardshell protection you can get without being a hardshell. Way more pockets than any gig bag I've ever owned. I can fit a boss pedal or two, tuner, cables, picks, microphone, a couple of beers, etc no problem.
