5’3, 130lbs and a size small fits great. Honestly really great product for the price. I was using my boyfriend’s Troy Lee bike shorts until these came in and we were surprised that they were pretty comparable in quality and strength. There are two pads you can use a soft or harder one that is exchangeable. The butt padding extends enough that it covers your bottom and tail bone. Highly recommend.

I bought this for snowboarding and let me tell you that it saves my booty from getting hurt. I fell a few times and I felt like I was protected all around.

I bought 6 different brands of padded shorts off of Amazon for my 13 year old daughter to pick from. She liked this brand the best for learning how to snowboard's. These padded shorts are great for the tailbone area..They have average padding along the legs and are easy to move and bend in she said. My daughter said they really have helped her with falling when she’s snowboarding. We kept this brand and returned all the rest.. I felt this brand was a good quality and value for your money..

The sizing chart is accurate. With a waist of 27" and a hip of 36", size Small fit me well. Note that the pouch openings are on the inside of these shorts (one of the product photos made them look as if they were on the outside.) It's these pouch openings that help the product stand out. I loved the ability to customize, adding and subtracting pads as necessary, and I wish more sellers would adopt this design. These shorts are comfortable to wear and are good for prolonged use while snowboarding or skateboarding. However, don't use it for biking. The butt pad does not extend below the butt. As a result, these shorts won't provide extra padding against bike seats. Similarly, one shouldn't try to break any falls by sitting straight down on your butt; doing so won't engage any of the pads.

Before I write this review, I must admit that I am a self professed SHINYPRO fanboy. Having owned and used their previous padded shorts version and their knee pads the whole last season, I can comfortably say that I have no doubt that this will protect my bum for the upcoming season. This new version has more padding, predominantly around the sides of the thighs, as well as longer and more padding in the tailbone. This will give your butt an increase in size but only noticeable if you're wearing tight clothing and in general not bulky or restricting at all. It also comes with an extra pad that you can insert or replace in the tailbone region, which is a new design addition from the previous version. I can't wait to bring it to the slopes.

I am fairly thin and there was simply too much material and padding for me

If you’re learning a new sport, these are extremely durable, customizable (add/remove padding), and will give you more confidence. If you’re getting these for a snow sport, be sure that your pants are big enough to accommodate the extra padding, otherwise it’ll look like a diaper.

They didn’t help protect my tailbone, when I fell they were too high up on my butt. I’m 5’7†129lbs.
