I have purchased 3 headbands and I have to say they are awesome. My wife has balance issues and tends to fall a lot. I know they are sold for sports but if a family member has a medical condition that might cause them to fall, it really does protect their head. My wife was very sceptical at first and worried about how it might look. After a few falls she now wears it when we go out and sometimes even in the house. I think what really convinced her is when she fell hard on the kitchen floor. I helped her up and she was completely fine. Also they look great.

Tried a toque version but it kept riding up on my head. Felt like it would flip off if I fell backwards. My use is for curling. Probably it would reduce the force of impact or spread it out but you still might get a concussion.
