A light, compact and user-friendly unit that makes sanding in tight spaces more convenient. Used in modeling, sculpturing, tool- and die-making or the automotive sector. The belt sander has a speed control for variable speeds from 12 - 25ft/s (225 - 450m/min), which enables to work on many different materials, such as wood, metal or plastic. It can be used for grinding and enlarging small openings, grinding in notches, regrinding moulds or polishing (flat surfaces). It is also great for deburring, rounding edges or removing paint. Recentering or tilting the belt is easily done with a screwdriver. Comes with two 80 grit and two 180 grit sanding belts. Technical data: Volts 110 - 120V AC, 60Hz. Max. Power 1/8hp (100W). This hand held sanding device is exceptional! Both in design and durability. This is the 2nd one I’ve owned.The first one was used on a daily basis for my jewelry making business and it got a tremendous amount of use. The only reason I had to replace it was after about 9 years of daily use the electrical cord became frayed and I could not replace it.I have other Proxxon tools and I can say they are all very well engineered.....and have a high quality build to them. This one was well worth the cost.

This tool works really well. It removes wood quickly, but it does not hog it off like an angle grinder would. It is for more detail type work. You have to let the tool do the work. You can not muscle the sanding belt into the wood. The directions do admit that. I am totally okay with that. I use it to get into some delicate shaping areas and it performs very well. I also really like that it is not made in China. It is made in Luxemburg. I think that this tool is well worth the money. I would buy it again.

It's a great item, works well. seems sturdy. some minor issues after about 15 minutes of use it get pretty warm in your hands wihich makes it uncomfortabe so I had to rest it for a while until it cools down and gloves made it kind of ackward to handle. but all and all it's not a bad product worls well and gets the job done

I purchased this to do some detail sanding on some interior cut outs on a project. I worked well. I make small boxes and was needing to clean up some live edges, the sander was just the "ticket", in fact it enabled me to not only clean it up but to add some more and improve the overall appearance. I was concerned with the life of the belts, but they have proved to be durable. One broke at the seam, I was able to glue it back. It is important to have good dust collection as the tool puts out lots of it, not so much in the air but all over the area around your hand. I have it attached to my small festool vac system. To update: after 1 year of heavy use I have only used 2 belts and it work great.

This little belt sander is worth it's weight in gold. It has saved me hours of tedious hand sanding. I have finally found a way to catch the sawdust with a bag also. Perfect! I would definitely buy this again.

Had one for years and used it very little. Sounded as tho the bearing/bushings were bad. Ordered new one and arrived worse than old one, plus overheated during first use. Waiting for refund ! Bought a WEN ! Delighted....so far. 1/3 the price but double the weight and no belt tracking.Oh yes; no bad bearings !

Bought this tool to clean up epoxy wood filler that I used to patch up the rotted trim around a bunch of windows. Worked fantastic. The alternative was hours of manual sanding. Lightweight, variable speed control, loop for a lanyard, pivoting head, etc.I was up on a ladder, so this thing really saved me.Just remember not to press too hard (let the sandpaper do it's job) and take a break when it gets hot. The friction creates heat, no way around that.

My second Proxxon belt sander! The first one simply was used up from the amount of work I made her do. This is the smallest belt sander I know of. She's a little noisy, but for the purposes I use this sander (professional model building), nothing else comes close. It does takes a little while to get 'handy' with this tool, as with a lot of other specialized tools.
