Whoever thinks that a simple needlework utensil such as the thimble cannot be further developed, will be positively surprised by the “Soft Comfort” from the prym.ergonomics series. This innovative thimble was awarded the Red Dot Design Award in 2015, because it does everything perfectly that its competitors should. Its shaft of soft plastic in several colors offers impeccable comfort in sizes S, M and L. On its side there are four vents that prevent sweating when working for longer periods. The top of the “Soft Comfort” thimble is made of hard white plastic and has dot shaped notches which ensure perfect needle guidance even with sturdy fabrics and multiple layers.

Only thimbles I have found that fit my fingers. Got a small for my pointer finger and a medium for my thumb.

Maybe like you, I've tried every kind of thimble that I've found--the ones I inherited from my grandmother, imported Japanese ones, soft ones, hard ones. They all felt clumsy and/or hot and/or unworkable. The Prym thimble works--finally!! It has open sides so it doesn't get too hot, the material is soft enough to be slightly flexible but hard enough to work, and the little indentations ensure that the thimble does it's job. I only wish that there were color choices (the colors are set by size--Purple = medium).

I like the comfort and fit of this particular thimble. My old, all metal one, was the size i've always used but is impractical, as the old all-metal thimble kept falling off when I've used it lately. This flexible vinyl thimble stays put on my finger and is a comfortable fit. In fact, more than one size works for me so I kept both of them.

I saw another student with this in our Hawaiian quilting class and asked to try it out. Amazing! I had to order one for me and for the instructor! Just love this!

Mi madre tiene el dedo deformado y pensábamos que no le iba a valer, pero mira por donde al final se lo ha puesto y ya no se lo quita, le viene fenomenal.

This is a really great thimble - I spent a few days moping around utterly convinced that I would never be able to find a thimble again small enough for my fingers after I had lost my small sized metal one - I decided to take a chance on this one and it really is great. Actually, it’s a lot better than the last one - the holes in the surface are deep so don’t allow the needle to slip at all. It’s a good thing I lost my last needle! I do actually have more control when hand sewing with this one.The fit is great - I have extremely small hands and this size is ideal for my middle finger, as you can see in the image. It has a bit of flex to it and it stays on because it’s a good fit rather than because it has formed a vacuum (which is what I suspect my metal one was doing).
