Purchased these to use for car washing. The water in my location is full of crap. I like to fill up a dark bowl and let the water evaporate just to see what's in the water. These were a 100% improvement over not having the filter.

Bought the 2 pack.THE GOOD - We have a well on our property which has a sulfur smell in the water. This filter did remove the smell & filter the fine silt out.THE OK - 1 did not flow water at all ! I had a double female hose adapter & used this to reverse rinse this filter. After several times reversing flow each time the filter started to flow the same amount as the one that worked correctly. As others stated water flow is reduced. I was using this to fill rv tank as temps were below freezing at night so it worked for what I needed. When weather warms I will try hooked up to hose inlet.

At first I thougt These filters are a complete scam.I tested a pair of these, (Got the 2 pack) over the space of an hour with a TDS meter. After flushing them, one at full garden hose pressure the other at a low garden hose pressure, both had similar results. They add ppm to the water quality rather than reduce it. From the hose without a filter I’m getting as low as 82ppm. With the filter added the ppm goes up from 1 to 6 ppm. On one of the filters, after flushing at a medium water pressure the ppm readings were 105, and slowly dropped over 30 minutes to 90ppm! Because the filters are actually adding contaminants to the water, it performed best at the highest water pressure since water is moving too fast to pick up as many contaminants as it’s passing through.My meter works perfectly. Im a window cleaner and I use it to test water in different cities throughout the week and I find the same measurements consistent from city to city with this meter which is less than 2 weeks old.But as it turns out, I have discovered that these filters are the wrong ones to use if I’m trying to lower the parts per million in the water. The filters are going to remove particles but not dissolved solids.
