I have an old Mansfield toilet and its handle lever was plastic and it broke. So I wanted to find something better, i.e. metal. First I got another metal one but my wife didn't like that its handle was different from the original and I agreed that it didn't feel right. So I bought this one and installed it. We are both very happy with it. It's metal and very strong, and the handle is shaped exactly like the original one. I don't see how the metal piece will pull out as one reviewer said had happened; maybe it was a defective one. A soft washer was included which is nice because the tank's inner surface is quite uneven and needs a washer. I had used a hose washer before on the first replacement handle - nothing extra needed for this one.

If you have a lift style 160 as opposed to a chain style, this product does not fit without extensive modification. I had to carefully bend and cut the rod with a hack saw so it would fit into the lift. I will say the quality of the metal rod is pretty good and it does now work as intended.

It is way too long so there is no angle where you can get it through the flush valve. It also doesn’t bend down low enough, on the end, and is too far towards the front of the tank.I had to take of 1/4 of the bar with a hacksaw, then bend it 2 different ways in 2 different spots with my bench viceUnless you’re ready to turn a 30 second project into a 20 minute one, don’t bother.

I don't know what kind of toilet I have, but my landlord kept installing a plastic lever that would break after a couple months. So I finally went ahead and bought this. It's not breaking anytime soon, and I would have to keep calling my landlord.
