The safe is well made and solid. Perfect for checkbooks, important docs, etc. Mine came in perfect condition. I had no problem following the directions to program a passcode after I installed the safe.Pros:Solid build including the door and the locking mechanism.Has more vertical space than other safes where the locking mechanism takes up the entire center shelf area. The door pops open when you put the code in or use the key.Interior light - I didn't think I needed the light but I like it especially in a closet.Easy installation. Easy Password set up.Cons:Passcode panel makes little beeps as you press in your code -- so it's hard to keep it a secret if you have to open it when people are around. For people needing to get to their gun there are biometric gun safes that are silent. Not a fire proof safe.Pegs in the metal peg board don't pull out to reposition easily. They are screwed in so you have to unscrew the whole peg board to reposition the pegs. I opted to remove the entire board for a smidge more space.Included is a plastic door handle (adhesive strip included) that is cheap and not needed especially if you are trying to hide the safe behind something. The door springs open.Installing was easy as I had all my tools ready. Using a stud finder, check that your wall has no electrical wires or plumbing that may interfere with installation. Measure the height of the BACK of the safe (the part that gets inserted). DON'T USE THE OUTSIDE LIP FOR YOUR MEASUREMENT. The outer lip hides the opening and stops the safe from falling in behind the wall. Use a level to draw parallel horizontal lines on the wall between 16-center studs. Use a sheet rock knife to puncture and cut along the lines and then vertically close to the studs. Place the safe in the rectangular hole and use a pencil to mark where the bolts go into the studs. Pull out the safe to pre-drill. Place the safe back in and check to see the holes are lined up. Use a ratchet to tighten bolts into the studs. Finish tightening when all bolts are in place. No need to use a power ratchet as that can break the bolt heads off as it has for others.

The safe is made very well. For the money it is a great deal. Ease of mounting in the wall. Easy to program your password. Love the way it pops open and the lights come for quick access. That being said it is not as secure as the big tumbler pins in a normal gun safe if you need that. The dislike was the instruction manual is wrong it state to use 4 AA batteries. It really takes 4 AAA batteries. No big deal but wrong. It was packaged very well yet it must of been dropped at some point on the corner of the box which in turn bent one corner of the cabinet. I was able to straighten it out without chipping the paint off.

First off, I never buy anything based on reviews from people who got the item for free. (It's odd that you never see negative reviews from those folks not wanting to jeopardize getting stuff for free) Also, I had to find the one person that actually paid for it to get a review of the product installed to make a decision. Anyway, I digress. The safe is good for the price point. It does have all of the things others have described, but it's not Fort Knox. It'll pretty much just keep honest people honest, and dishonest people from trying too hard to open it with the Ring alarm blaring. It does have a silent mode contrary to another reviewer's comment. The only thing I can fault (so far) is the hardware. It's junk. the heads of the provided screws stripped off easily. Do yourself a favor and buy 5 quality lag bolts from a hardware store. Other than that, the installation was fairly straightforward.

The safe arrived damaged. Customer Service, via email, was courteous and timely. They quickly resolved all my areas of concern. Features of the wall safe were exactly and claimed and installation was simple.

Nicely made and easy to install. I thought the directions were a little confusing for setting up the pass code.

This was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted something that would sit relatively flush to the wall behind a picture I already had mounted and no one would be the wiser. Unfortunately my studs are more widely spaced than the allowance for the “correct†installation but I was able to mount it sideways which worked out great.

Finally got one and couldn't be happier! Easy to install, nice weight to it also. Very happy with it!

This safe will not fit flush if you have a standard 2x4-in thick wall. It is a well built safe.
