This mattress topper is like a hybrid mattress topper/protector with a sprinkling of memory foam. It has a small egg-crate design that seems to keep the mattress a little cooler during sleep. Unlike a topper: It fits over your mattress like a sheet would: with deep pockets. It fits my 14" mattress without a hic-up. It is not thick, but dense, so my sheets fit overtop without a problem. Just a suggestion: Out of the box let it expand for a day/two and it helps to have two people stretch the top over the mattress and tuck into the sides when you initially put it onto your mattress: this nicely expands the crate design. It is very comfortable and adds a firmness to my mattress. Most note-able: no back or hip pain. I would recommend.

I put a lot of time into looking for a topper that would soften the feel of my extra firm mattress. When the box arrived, it said MATTRESS PAD on the box. I was confused because a mattress pad is thin and not what i wanted. I was contemplating returning without opening the box. I'm glad did not. The item was definitely a topper that provides a lot of comfort to my extra firm mattress. The only problem is the skirt barely can be stretched over the corner of my 14 inch mattress to secure it to the bed. It arches up along the sides because of the shortness and pulling at the corners. In fact, it ripped at one corner as I was pulling to get it to grip under the corner of the mattress. I'm hoping it will stay in place over time.

I bought this as a mattress cover for an ageing pet that's incontinent and needs as much padding as possible for his old bones.Definite high marks on the comfort part , he took to it right away. But, imagine my surprise when, after an 'accident' I went to wash the cover and found the care tag said 'spot clean only, do not wash'. That sort of defeats the purpose of a waterproof mattress pad. I wouldn't need a waterproof cover if I was only worried about things I could spot clean.I ran it through the washer and it survived but I'm wondering how long it will last.

I was pleasantly surprised with this well made King mattress pad. It fit very well and snugly on bed. It did not have a terrible manufactured smell, and is comfortable to sleep on!
