Bought these for my grandsons aged 6 and 4 and they love them. The 6-year old can do pretty much the entire thing by himself once I showed him how to do it. The 4-year-old can easily do the sewing and threading, but needed help with stuffing and finishing touches, I.e., eyes, mouth, etc. The only problem encountered was with getting the back paper off of the sticky part of the eyes, etc. I finally gave up after several minutes and just pulled the paper (and glue) off and just used bottle glue to keep them in place…annoying!!

If you’re looking for something to do with the kids on the weekend, this is it. It’s easy to do, its fun for the kids. There are 12 individual kits a d each kit pack looks like it’s made out of durable material. Definitely a bang for your buck. You get several kits, so the kids can do one or a few. The designs of each kit is actually pretty nice looking and it helps to see that it comes with a manual that shows what it should look like. There are two cons to this though.1. Only one needle is available, so you may have to go to the craft store to buy more for all the kids to do theirs at the same time.2. The manual doesn’t mention how the smaller parts are supposed to be applied. I’m assuming glue, but it would be nice to be told what tools or equipment is needed prior to making these.

This looked like the perfect craft to make with my friends’ sea loving creative kiddo, and I am really impressed with how well thought out it is. Can’t wait to surprise her with this next time I see her! Each animal is packaged separately, plenty of thread in many colours is included, and both the plastic needles and scissors are blunt ended to make them safer for little hands. While I’d say the projects are highly intuitive, an instruction book is included to guide you. There’s even a needle threader, which I don’t even have in my full sewing kit. The box is cute and just the right size to easily store everything until all the animals are completed. The only thing I could see getting a bit messy is the single bag of compressed filling. I’ll probably transfer it to a resealable bag once we open it.

We've bought a few things from QUOKKA, from games to crafts and puzzles. The price tends to be fair and, while some of the games were simple, everything has been of reasonable quality. Our kids like crafts and this seemed like a natural fit.My seven year old was able to do this on her own, while thoroughly enjoying the process. While she hasn't made all 12 of the included animals yet, the ones she's put together have included everything needed and had clear instructions. She's happy with the finished animals and enjoys making up stories for them. Thanks QUOKKA!
