Connection
Due to the U-bolt and saddle with screw construction, it can connect 2 layers of wire to form a loop. Deeper thread threads help better connection between the bolt and the nut, preventing the ends of the U-bolt from breaking due to uneven stress.

Written around 10/2024. I bought these to use on a 7/16" wire rope and a stainless thimble. I followed a guide on how to install them which says to put the U shape part on the dead end of the cable and the flat part on the live end, part you actually pull with. Google for 'wire rope cable clips' and then select show images. You should see some pics with red 'X's and a green check mark. I used one that is a .pdf page and printed it. It also shows a chart with torque recommendations for different sizes of clamps. I used these clamps on a wire rope to pull a tree with. Tractor put a good bit of pressure on the cable and it didn't give a inch.One thing to note. I did over tighten one clamp and it later broke, while removing it to change to larger thimble. It held fine when pulling but failed when trying to remove the bolts. Don't over tighten these. They do have torque limits. Don't exceed them. Also, as mentioned above, install the clamps the correct way.I attached a image. I do need to move the middle clamp down a little. According to the specs, it is a little to close to the one closest to the eye.These are some well made clamps. Even the one I broke took a LOT of pressure. I used a 18" pull handle and about all the strength I have to break it. If it takes that much, they should never break when on a cable if installed correctly.

I use mine to hold ammo boxes to the side of my motorcycle. They are well made, strong and have a lovely finished look.

Got these to secure some 1/2 rope connected to a weighted basket. The clamped down nice and tight and performed the job as needed.
