I installed this in my Jeep and connected it to an old winch I had laying around and it works fantastic. It is very easy to install with some light wiring knowledge and it comes with good instructions. For the money, it is a great addition to your winch that makes it easier to use.

I bought this to replace a broken switch on my Badland winch. I also wanted the remote capability while loading and unloading my car. I didn't know if it would work but thought I would give it a try anyway. It was easier than I thought it would actually be. I took the switch handle apart which is on a 5 foot factory cable for the Badland and it had three female spade fittings into the switch. One wire was "IN", another wire was "OUT" and the third was "Power". I cut the ends off of the remote wire and put a male spades on them and they pushed right into the three spades from the factory cable. I added the ground to the battery and everything worked perfectly.I can now stand back much further than needed and operate the winch. Fantastic

Suffers from 2 big design flaws:1. No indication of whether they are on or off, other than trying to use them2. Less common battery that you need a screw driver to changeThe installation went well, and they worked initially. But when I needed the winch - and when you need a winch you NEED a winch - the batteries on both remotes were dead. Had to hunt down a small phillips head screwdriver to try to change the batteries, just to find that they take a battery I don't have laying around because it's just not a common type like AA or AAA, etc. Had to operate without remotes until I got the proper batteries. When I changed them, things seemed to work fine. I double and triple checked that I turned them off and thought that would be it....until the next time I needed the winch. Guess what? They didn't work again. This time when I changed the battery on one of them it still didn't work.So they're going in the garbage because they never work when I need them.DON'T BUY THESE IF YOU ACTUALLY NEED REMOTES TO WORK WHEN YOU NEED YOUR WINCH.

One of the remotes had a dead battery, so thats kinda lame, but aside from that, this works as it should. If you have one of the older generation harbor freight winches with the square relay box, there is actually a molded slot inside that this unit is designed to fit into. Saw someone in a review somewhere mentioned that this controller doesn't stop immediately when you release the button, and after I tested it, I found that was not the case, and it does turn off as soon as you release the button.

Works as advertised. I was worried if there was a delay... maybe a tenth of a second. Been in use for a week. I'll change my review if it fails. Havent had an issue yet, but thr batteries are 23A.

Worked great on HF Badlands 9500. This winch has a slot in the cover for a wireless receiver to be secured and it fit right in there. I did have to cut the terminal ends off the ground and in/out wires. Icrimped on piggy back connectors and installed and tested. Got the polarity right the first time! I then landed the "wired" remote plug onto the piggy backs and everything works. Easy job, and took all of 20 minutes taking my time.

I’ve bought and used two of these. They seem to work. The remotes automatically turn off when not using so your battery won’t die. You do have to replace the eye ring connectors on the wires with plug on connectors.

The first one I bought did not work at all. The second one worked great, so a three star rating.

The clear instructions and well-designed components made the whole installation hassle-free.Dual Remote Control Kit:The inclusion of two remote controls is a game-changer. It adds a layer of convenience that I didn't know I needed. Having the flexibility to control the winch from different angles or distances is incredibly useful, especially in challenging terrains.Impressive Range:The wireless functionality of the winch has an impressive range. I was pleasantly surprised at how far I could operate it without any signal loss. This feature provides an extra layer of safety and control, especially in situations where precision is crucial.Durable Build:The winch itself boasts a robust and durable build. It feels like a quality product that can handle the rigors of off-road adventures. I have a Champion 10,000 lb winch. I was pulling trees down a couple of weeks ago, but it was a pain using the factory cord, as I was 75' away from the tree, had to ask for the wife's help as I had to stay by the tree with the chainsaw. So I invested $21.×× into this product. I installed it today, it was so easy, works well over 100' away. Best money I've spent in years. Highly recommended, I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could.
