This model eye is made of cheap plastic and it’s somewhat difficult to open and close. The ones that are used in doctors offices is what I was expecting. Those are heavyweight and durable and the pieces fit in effortlessly. This model does the job though and for the price you can’t beat it. They do need to correct the error in the instruction manual. Instead of cornea, they wrote “comeaâ€

Gave to my husband who does research on human eyes as a prof. prop when talking to MD and PhD students. He loved it, opening and closing the parts and geeking out like a kid with a new toy. As a professional, he admired the level of detail. As a gift giver, I was impressed at how fancy it looked considering the low price. I bought this eye model as a gift for my husband. It's a great model but unfortunately it seems I was sent a used item as this one has lots of scratches and some minor dents. Disappointing that it's in this condition. I will be exchanging it in hopes of receiving one in new condition.
