This item works well for my purposes, and is easy to use.I am not happy with this item since it did not arrive with a battery. The brief one page manual that came with it did not say what size battery to get for it. I was able to find out that the item uses a 1.5V LR44 battery (for anyone that needs to know). Fortunately, I was able to find a battery locally without having to order one. Otherwise, I would have returned this. What annoys me about this is I had to wait 3 weeks for it to arrive just so I could take advantage of free shipping. I needed this device to make some one-time measurements to determine some other buying decisions.Parts of the Manual that came with it are not well written. Some of the instructions are unclear. There is a plastic covering at the top of the device that covers what looks like a battery compartment, but there was no battery in it, and it does not line up where the Battery Cap is indicated the manual. There is a 2nd covering that covers what looks like a port for a computer cable of some kind. For manufacturer purposes? Is the knob at the top used for a handle? There's no indication in the manual about either of those. Perhaps they are not relevant.
