This little digital vfo works great for what I am using it for. I added it to an old crystal controlled transceiver. It works much better than I expected! I removed one of the crystals and connected the vfo to the crystal socket using a short piece of small diameter coax cable with a male sma connector on one end. I soldered one end to the crystal socket and connected the other end to the output on the vfo. The center conductor goes to the crystal socket and the shield to the chassis ground. If your radio uses a third harmonic crystal synthesizer like mine does, then you will need to compensate with the right frequency on the vfo to achieve the target frequency after it is multiplied through your radio's crystal synthesizer. It would be nice if the actual frequency you are using could be displayed on the screen. I believe that this could be accomplished if the factory would provide a way to custom program the IF offset by using the buttons on the vfo.
