I've had this out in my garden for a few months, and it has held up well. The thin metal deforms easily, but that can add a bit of charm. It's starting to get a little darker, but no really noticeable copper patina yet. I'd suspect this is copper cladding over aluminum based on the color and weight.The chain is too flimsy to hold up for any time; I'd plan to get a different one or reinforce it somehow. I ended up using this as a freestanding bowl instead of a hanging rain basin.

This is larger than I thought it would be and just absolutely beautiful. It makes a really pretty accent in the corner of my house where we have a small deck. I see the cats drinking out of it at times, and it's probably good for them as copper is known to kill a lot of bad things. I paired it with a copper rain chain and it's so much lovelier and more sensual than a downspout.My bowl came well packed can protected. It's textured and gorgeous, and a decent thickness so it should last and be very durable. We all love it! After seeing my pets drink from it I'm glad I went with copper. We all have copper water bottles for health, and now it's like they have one of their own too. :)

This is beautiful. I love the finish and size of this basin. I bet it will have a beautiful patina. I know its meant to be hung but this makes a beautiful garden basin for a fountain, etc.

This is a beautiful hammered copper bowl, very suitable for a catch at the end of your rain chain. The chain it comes with is, however, hopeless; it is little more than a set of copper paperclips; it barely holds the basin empty, with water it is useless. Such a shame for such a gorgeous basin.Overall, the basin is worth the price even in light of the need to get a real chain for attachment. P-)
