We garden and live on a farm so the amount of rain we get is useful information. We had one of those fancy weather stations, but it stopped registering the amount of rain within a month or so. My husband mounted this to a fence post and we check it and empty it whenever we go out to the barn after a rain. Nice big numbers and easy to read, but still have to get up close to it.For some thing this inexpensive I spent a long time researching and seems there are problems with these being fluted at the top to make sort of a funnel which increases the rain going into them so it reads higher than what actually fell.This is tapered downward and it seems like what it reads matches up to what we estimated it rain.We’ve had it up for a few months and haven’t had to clean it yet, although it does look like A bird tried to take aim on the outside.Appears to be very durable, easy to clean, I like the stand for it that’s metal and holds it nicely without blocking the view of the numbers.It’s also easy to empty without being unwieldy. Overall, I think it was a good purchase and good value.

Glass seems sturdy enough. Metal holder is a little difficult to maintain vertical. Numbers on glass tube could be bigger. Full numbers are easily read from a distance, but fractional divisions are difficult to see.

For the size it works just fine. I was used to a farm rain gauge and this about half the size but still easy to read.

We can read it from our elevated deck. It reads best when there is more rainfall, as the minuscule amounts are difficult for our older eyes to see. Worth the $ for us.

This guage sits purdy in my front flower bed… come in with all the pieces .. large number display .. easy to read from 20 ft away unless you need glasses.
